Yeah I remember seeing this way back when. He also had a number of favorited stories and pictures on Deviantart of similar subject matter around the same time, I remember one involving spiders (would advise against looking naturally although this is presumably buried under years and years' worth of pictures by now anyway). Worth noting I think that in the original story that inspired this, written by the same author, the girl afflicted by the spores was still alive at the end (somehow), so hottieman must have specifically wanted his girls to be stated to be dead.

I'm not one to judge people for their fetishes most of the time, but in hottieman's case I find these more gruesome interests to be despicable because of how endemic they are of his behavior as a whole. hottieman does not care about any characters for their actual characterization, whether those owned by others or as the above demonstrates even his own, he only sees them and the art of them as something sexually appealing that he can jack off to, then he can throw them away until he needs them again, and this can also be seen in how he treats his friends and acquaintances.

The author was not one of the "friends" that was mistreated, this story was brought up was because it was and as of now still is one of the more fucked up aspects of him. Sharing this is another way to punish him for his bullshit
