A Brazilian influencer who pivoted from a career in professional gaming has been sentenced to 116 years in prison "plus fines" because of fraud charges, the Brazilian website Universo Online reported Tuesday.

Shayene "shAy" Victorio, who is known for her competitive background in "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive," was convicted of multiple counts of fraud and faces a 116-year prison sentence as a result. Despite the much longer sentence, the maximum prison term for a single crime under Brazilian law is 30 years.

According to the report, Brazil's Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime carried out the investigation into accusations that Victorio — as co-owner and operator of an online storefront from 2013 to 2017 — sold goods that were never delivered or refunded.

She denies the claims and points blame at her former partners in the venture. Victorio is also appealing the ruling.

"We will appeal against the sentence that we consider inhumane, awaiting a new decision and under the guise of the principle of innocence," her lawyer told Universo Online.

On Tuesday, she issued a statement on her Instagram account in which she updated followers on her life:

In the note, Victorio said she was free during the appeals process. "I am not arrested and I will not be arrested," she said in an attempt to push back on reports that she was a fugitive.

Before becoming an influencer, Victorio had been well known within the Brazilian "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" competitive scene. She spent more than 10 years competing in the original "Counter-Strike" and a follow-up, "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive."

It was only last May that she left the world of esports to focus on a new career as a social media influencer. For now, however, Victorio says she's leaving social media "to take care of my sanity."

Imagine going to prison, coming out 30 years later, and discovering the world has changed so much your skill set is almost irrelevant.

Now imagine being an e-thot and going to prison, coming out 30 years later, and after hitting The Wall (years ago) while locked up, you literally have nothing of value to offer anyone. Nobody is gonna pay you to bunnyhop across de_dust in 2050, honey :story:

"I SELL THE PC AND DID HORMONAL TREATMENT": OLGA IS THE FIRST TRANS TECHNIQUE OF CS: GO IN BRAZIL
Diversity in eSports, we see here!

Determination and overcoming: these are two words that describe the trajectory of Olga Rodrigues, the first transsexual coach in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scenario in Brazil.

Known as “drtt” thanks to her past in the competitive scene as a pro player, Olga participated in teams like Remo Brave and SiteCs, where she even won the Brasil Game Cup 2016. Beyond the dream of living from eSports, the player had another aspiration: your identification as a woman inside and outside the CS: GO universe.

Although apparently new to the scene, Olga's story at CS: GO began in early 2016, when she still identified herself as a man.

Lucas “drtt” Rodrigues (as he became known on the scene) had his first professional experience as a pro player at Dai Dai, a team that helped him to move up to the Gamers Club (GC) Pro League at age 21.

Later, he played for SLK Gaming, SiteCs and Remo Brave - a team that until then had only hit the post in championship semifinals. This was the moment when drtt gained more recognition after his entry into the competitive, as at that time Brave won the GC Pro League over Team One, and then won the cup of Brasil Game Cup 2016 in São Paulo.

Even playing competitively for about a year and being successful, the lack of organizational structure and personal problems began to weigh on the professional.

“Regarding the scenario, I was not very confident of getting anything, and at the same time I had family problems due to my sexuality. I thought it best to do what I thought was best for myself, ”she told Versus exclusively.

The transition process greatly affected Olga's career. When identifying herself as a woman in 2017, the hitherto pro player moved away from the competitive scenario of CS: GO and set out on a journey of self-knowledge and acceptance.

"I was already researching hormonal treatment and started taking it on my own. It is very risky, but it would take time to get medical support. I was unable to continue on the scene because I sold parts of my PC."

To get the drugs, Olga worked and left her parents' home, who did not support her in the gender transition process.

"In the new house I didn't even have internet. I came from middle class parents and left to live in the favela, on top of the toecap. Being a trans anywhere is violent."

According to her, much of what happened at this time strengthened her even more. After organizing her life, she managed to return to the competitive scenario of CS: GO.

“I looked for the PC at my mother's house, got it fixed and went back to talking to the people in the scene. I wanted to go back and improve the female scenario, participate and give all the energy I could to see the 'mines' having opportunities as good as that of the 'guys'. ”

Not long after, Olga received some proposals to act as a technician in the competitive female scenario of CS: GO. Although she still misses playing as a pro player, she believes that there is currently no space for mixed teams in the competitive shooting game scenario.

“I doubt that they would let me play on a team according to my gender. In fact, they have to leave, but I see many people who still don’t accept it ”, he declared.

“I know that there are very good girls playing here and that they don't have a chance to play in bigger teams. This is something I would like to change, to make this break in the gender division to assemble the teams. ”

Focusing on what matters

The trans, who is undergoing testing at Bootkamp Gaming, is currently responsible for training the players Amanda "AMD" Abreu, Claudia "santininha" Santini, Karina “kaah” Takahashi, Jessica “fly” Pellegrini and Shayene “shAy” Victorio.

According to Olga, one of the biggest objectives of entering the female scenario is to help improve the competitive through her experiences in other organizations.

“I think it is important to have support, support and this view of charging yourself a little more. Sometimes [the organizations] just want to use their image [players] and don't care much about the result, which is why sometimes they don't give a lot of value to their work either. ”

Thais Stagni and Siouxsie Rigueiras believe in gender equality in eSports. Follow them on Twitter at @thaistagni @SRigueiras.

If not trans herself, then she is oddly surrounded by trannies.

She looks authentic, even the hands pass, but she's so heavily caked in makeup, I really can't be sure. I'll place my odds at 80/20 that she's a real woman.

Lmao, she's either going to go to prison and never be seen again, or flee the country and never be see again. Which ever happens, her current life is over.

It appears that she wasn't the only one doing the crime, but her father and her boyfriend who is a goalkeeper and looks like he came from prison were also prosecuted.
