BY COLIN STEVENS The Breaking Bad movie sequel will reportedly air on AMC and Netflix, premiering first on Netflix.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the feature-length film will star Aaron Paul, who portrayed Jesse Pinkman in all five seasons of Breaking Bad. The film, codenamed Greenbrier, will reportedly be written and directed by series creator Vince Gilligan, who will executive produce alongside Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein.

Breaking Bad Movie Starts Production Soon

Having the film premiere first on Netflix is a reversal of how the show branched out to the streaming service, as it initially debuted on AMC, and the streaming rights were later sold to Netflix. This brought in more viewers, and made the final seasons immensely popular.

News of the film’s production broke back in November 2018, at which point it was reveled that it would follow Jesse after the events of Breaking Bad’s series finale. As it turns out, Gilligan may have revealed the film’s plot over five years ago in an interview with GQ.

I just hope they do the right thing now and give Skylers jawline a co-starring billing.

Jesse Pinkman is a mid to late (depends on how long Vince says the timeline for Breaking Bad is) 20 year old whose degenerate lifestyle killed one lover and his criminal lifestyle resulted in the murder of another, albeit the Mexican chick wasn't directly his fault.

What the hell can you do with a character like Jesse? It'll be interesting to see what Vince comes up with, at least there's potential for one Breaking Bad character to end on a positive note I guess.

One of the finer points of Jesse Pinkman's character was that he's a person who really doesn't belong in crime but has no other place to thrive, the scene where he tries to get a real job and his would-be employer points him to a mascot costume is one such scene in which he handles himself semi-professionally but is punted back down to the seedy underground, & the scene where he's struggling to build the gumption to kill two Mexicans for killing a kid only for Walter to dirty his own hands in place of Pinkman's are both scenes that show he doesn't belong on either playing field. The lack of potential doesn't lay in that he's a criminal, which is the case with everybody in Breaking Bad, it's that his character already came full circle at the end of season 5, the two sole reasons for him to continue cooking meth end up killing each other & he's absolutely free to be a fuck-up elsewhere. Seeing as how he was someone else's lacky for the entirety of Breaking Bad, his interest as a character is very much going to be his actions as the master of his own fate, otherwise we'll see a case of Jack Sparrow syndrome where he more or less takes a back seat to his own film.

I don't know how to feel about this. Breaking Bad is probably my fav TV show ever and one major reason for that is that they knew when to end it instead of dragging it out for another 128 seasons until everyone stopped watching.

I'm not up to date with Better Call Saul but I enjoyed the episodes I watched and they felt like a worthy prequel. I guess I'm just burnt out on sequels/prequels/cinematic(televisionmatic??) universes at this point. But who am I kidding...I'm going to watch anything BB related if it involves Vince Gilligan and Jesse Pinkman.

I hope it'll involve TwaughtHammer

Closure and a redemption arc? He needs to be thrown a goddamn bone.

But forget about him, we need to know what happened to Huell!
