[This OP is partially made up of info from the original thread]
The creator of the site himself was a lolcow, he was a paranoid alcoholic man who died from a heart attack.
A few people in the first thread mentioned Huffington Post as a leftist Breitbart, which is pretty funny because he helped Ariana Huffington to create that 'newspaper' as well.
Another point of interest I've identified is a columnist there named John Nolte, who insists that the Gay Pride Flag is as much a symbol of hate and oppression as the Confederate Battle Flag, and spergs about it just about every single time terrorism happens:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...r-attack-the-gay-rainbow-flag-must-come-down/
http://www.breitbart.com/big-govern...wn-the-fascist-anti-christian-gay-pride-flag/
But he is far outmatched by the hellhole of a comment section. The place is like if Yahoo commenters got bashed on the head with a rock several times, taking brain damage in the process.
Major figures from the comment section include: The Last Trump (no relation to Donald), a fundy creationist that comments across many different websites [see: http://fstdt.com/Search.aspx?Fundie=The+Last+Trump]; Ordinary American 2014, who calls LGBT "confusesexuals" (whatever happened to 'Queer' or 'Faggot'? Come on, you're supposed to be traditionalists, right, why stray from traditional insults?) and other dozens of people's crazy uncles who take them seriously instead of realizing they are a huge wingnut clickbait factory.
Breitbart is a right wing clickbait site that has been growing in popularity since GamerGate. It's full of GamerGate sperging, Donald Trump support, MRA propoganda, and right wing conspiracy theories.
Like any good community it is full of intelligent and insightful commentors

Pretty much every news article is full of equally nonsensical comments, and the writers are just as bad. For some reason, people still think this is a news site and not buzzfeed without anything fun, so it often gets linked as a source.
Honestly almost everything on this site is terrible. I'm sure you've all come across it at some point.

They halfheartedly trolled a slutwalk and then made like 3-4 articles whining about how they got asked to leave and what a disgrace it is that the SJews could crush journalistic freedoms.
Because apparently doing shit like this is 'journalism'.
They have some value in that they'll occasionally break shit that nobody else will touch, like when half the mainstream media reported that gamergate shot up San Bernadino because a troll told them so and journalists apparently don't fact-check anything, ever. But for every decent scoop they default into, there's about a metric fuckton of self-fellating themselves over it afterwards.
