That's pretty much the inevitable course of all "movements", especially online "movements". The most obnoxious and maladjusted proponents of anything are always going to go out of their way to get on a soapbox and make it about themselves. Really, the fact that everything on twitter has to be a "movement" now is just the gayest thing ever. I get that it's unavoidable to some extent because promoting issues through social media is the easiest way to give them exposure or fundraise these days, but I'll never take anything that revolves around a hashtag and calls itself a "movement" seriously because it'll always be a breeding ground for fags like this guy.
While true in most parts, you have to realize that social media does have an effect in this. It's essentially where many roads can meet, while it's indeed a double edged sword. It's the basic and easiest way to spread information and disinformation due to basically it allows essentially a bridge between the industry and consumers.
