Parliament's back in session, and further to the referendum result in June 2016 the next stage is an Act which would end the supremacy of EU law. Some people are not very happy about it.

Just this week the EU got a win against Hungary and Slovakia in their crusade to make sure every European country gets culturally enriched by economic migrants. Non-elected officials from a different country are trying to dictate the immigration policies of countries they've never lived in. That's terrifying. You're not an indpendent country if stuff like that's allowed to happen.

It's not just with immigration policy either. When the former Greek finance minister Yannis Varoufakis objected to German bailout money back in 2010 being conditional upon them taking immediate austerity measures which were counter to what his party's electoral mandate was based on, he was effectively told to get stuffed. Now for the record Greece's finances were and still are in a shocking state, but:

1. It's the principle of the thing; unelected officials dictating major Government policy.

2. Greece was only let into the Euro because the EU bent the rules, eager as it was to prove that the Euro was a true and honest single currency and not a Franco-German racket.

It used to be that the left was highly eurosceptic back in the 1980s as well because the EU was seen as a ruling class mechanism in which the working classes had no say.
