The difference is, there's a bunch of people who willingly and enthusiastically buy Ayn Rand's books, and even go out of their way to live their lives the way Rand put down in her (very wordy) books. The Same cannot be said for Mags.

That said, I'd rather read John Galt's speech over any comic written by Mags. The sperging from Rand's characters is more relatable and less vapid. Not to mention better written.

She didn't mean greedy or stupidly harmful for its own sake, but argued that acting with concern for one's own welfare, if adopted as a universal ethic, would actually have better results than the perverse results that have come from misplaced altruism leading to nobody's interests being satisfied, not even the ones supposedly the targets of such altruism.

Incidentally, she wrote the book called The Virtue of Selfishness with the guy she was cucking her husband with in the first place, which may be less ironic than I thought.
