Generally it's considered in pretty poor taste to wear white at a wedding. Especially a female attendee.
The focus of modern weddings, for whatever reasons, seem to have changed from two people becoming one soul and one flesh, to the bride being the princess and all the focus on her. If a woman wears white at a wedding and takes an ounce of attention from the bride, they will be glared at the whole time and talked shit about for years.
