The Art Wrangler

kiwifarms.net
Butch Hartman still posts youtube content and it's top tier boomer levels of cringe, and by that I mean absolutely entertaining watching a grown man struggle to show off art skills he doesn't have.

He's now doing livestreams:

The livestreams are clearly staged. He traces every drawing before the video enough times that he hopes he replicates it during the livestream itself. Even funnier he puts the images he traced in the thumbnail. He asks the audience if they have any requests, which leads to hilarity.

The guy he hired to moderate the chat, requests he draws a crocodile, and Butch gets PISSED, scrunches up his face and goes "Why did you have to go asking me to draw something like that! Ask for a different animal." Why he's pissed? I don't know. Maybe crocodiles look like "demons" or something or he literally can't draw any animal other than the ones he had been tracing before hand. So the guy goes "A komodo dragon maybe?" And Butch glares at the guy and goes "You want a lizard!? Fine! I'll draw a lizard!" He hastily draws a stick figure lizard and flips the page.

He asks the audience again to request a animal and straight up tells the moderator to sit the fuck down. Everyone in the chat is requesting he draw a cow or Godzilla. Butch reads the chat and just goes "I want to draw a gorilla so I'm drawing a gorilla." The moderator goes "But the chat is asking for Godzilla". Butch goes "I want to draw a gorilla."

He gets done with his gorilla and asks the chat what else they want him to draw.
A fan asks him to draw "King" from Owlhouse. Butch gets pissed again. You can see it on his face, it's like Ramsay's when he's about to scream at one of his kitchen staff. King is a demon cartoon character and Butch hates anything demonic, even if it's just a kids cartoon character. He dismisses the request and just draws a horribly butchered Scooby Doo instead.

People tend to troll him by asking him to draw characters that hyper christian parents don't like. So they ask him to draw King, Bill Cypher, and just whatever emo edge cartoon characters in pop culture at the moment. So pretty much he now asks a imaginary audience for a request, and ignores the actual requests given to him.

He also purges his youtube comments too which is why his videos have an abnormally low comment count. Any comment that negatively talks about him he deletes even if it's just stupid kid talk. A friend of mine commented saying "You look like a turtle." A couple hours later, Butch Hartman had blocked them and deleted the comment. He deletes any and all critique as well. We all know how well he takes criticism of his art.

Another recent video, showing how little he actually knows of the shows he worked on.
He calls a "gerbil" a "groundhog".

I thought he was going senile at first or trying to extend the length of his video for youtube, but nope. It's just a really bad groundhog joke. The fact that I actually thought he had video taped himself going senile was way more hilarious to me than the intended joke.

He'll be doing another livestream soon that is Godzilla themed, so we'll see how that goes! I bet he's tracing over images of Godzilla right as you're reading this in preparation of his next livestream.

I never thought the guy who made The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom would become the Derek Savage of Animation
He can't even claim to be that, considering Daddy Derek has 'successfully' actually released shit on his own and it at least possesses some form of entertainment value.

Derek Savage is the Derek Savage of animation.

I don't think that has been posted before in the respective Kiwi Farms threads (in case it has, correct me), but The Noog Network wasn't Butch Hartman's first attempt at creating a hub for cartoons.

YooToon Studios, a project which dates back to 2012, was set to be a network featuring animated shorts created by other cartoonists, who would give the short's rights to Butch beforehand. The idea of Butch hosting others' cartoons was later adopted by The Noog Network, and unlike that, YooToon had little to no original work by him. Only some forgettable mascots he made for the network, and a poorly-made short called Booger Brothers (the idea was later revived for Noog).

All but three (Harry and Larry Rocket Rentals, Sha-Zuki and Strong Man and Power Boy) shorts that got past the submission process and were uploaded on the YouTube channel are pretty bad considering that they were the first ones on the channel. Hartmans's channel was also criticized for its terms, mainly some quote-unquote "clarifications" regarding the ownership of the shorts creators woud submit to him. To give you an idea of how much this project bit the dust, it was first announced in late March 2012 (the network's social media accounts were also created during that period), with the first short, Al Lee Gator the Litigating Alligator, being uploaded on YouTube later on April 4, and the aforementioned's last activity was on May 30 of the same year (minus some Facebook reactions and retweets). Also, take a shot whenever there's an awful "Yoo" or "Toon" pun on a social media post.

Social media:
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/YootoonStudios
Twitter: https://twitter.com/yootoonstudios
Tumblr: https://yootoon.tumblr.com (archive) (was used for submitting shorts)
YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/YOOTOONSTUDIOS

The funny thing is, YooToon is very little-known among animation circles; I first learned about this from a Twitter post of TRAFON, while Google searching.

Also, I found this out:
"Let’s put it this way: the approval process is much, much faster. I’m the most impatient person. I got into animation 30 years ago, and it’s one of the slowest processes out there. Flash animation and digital production really lend themselves to speed. The animated series for Noog Network only take two weeks from start to finish."
That explains how his art skills have degraded a lot, I guess.

I signed up for Butch’s official newsletter in the fall of 2017 when I first met him at a convention, it was mostly made to advertise his online drawing classes; goodness knows how complete horseshit classes under Butch Hartman would be. Theae ads look like they stopped around April of 2018 only to pick up again in June to shill the last kickstarter week for Oaxis. The newsletter emails leave off hours before the the kickstarter concluded and they’ve never been updated since and as far as I know I never halted those emails.

I can confirm this; I also posted a comment criticizing his approach on autism and LGBT people and his cultish Christian behaviour, on his TikTok videos compilation #1. It got deleted, I later posted it again and it got deleted again.

I guess at this point, that the (rather obvious) reason his channel gets very few comments and views, is because of his run into the ground reputation. Besides, there are still lots of jeering and negative comments among the very few comments in total per video.

BTW, you have to be creatively bankrupt to start uploading your TikTok videos (with lots of them rehasing his previous YouTube videos, which have also been reuploaded a lot on his channel) on YouTube.

And speaking of YouTube, on the Noog Network channel, 9 episodes of a short live-action drama(?)/sci-fi series called Zack 2.0 have been uploaded as of writing this. The first three episodes were uploaded in August and September of 2020. After the channel went on a long hiatus, new episodes started getting uploaded again starting January 18 of this year, on Mondays and Wednesdays. According to Kidscreen's interview with Hartman regarding Noog, the latter confirmed that it lasts 10 episodes, which means that the last episode with air next Monday.

The show is... uhh, nothing really. I mean, the story is literally so bare bones (some alien male teenager is against some other female teen, and gets in trouble) it's hard to criticize it; the dialogues and the cinematography are pretty mediocre, albeit kinda impressive at times given the production scale, and I don't like Malachi Rhodes' (titular Zack) acting. The fighting in episode 1 is also amateurish. Its worst offender by far, is the running time. All episodes are around one/two minutes long. I know this was done for the Noog Network, and content for the app had to be short-form, but for a show that ends on a cliffhanger in each episode, that doesn't work.

From what I can gather from some YouTube comments, Noog has been moving its library of content to YouTube since 2020, including Zack 2.0 (originally produced in 2014), and the app is now removed from the App Store. As Pinely said on his video about the Noog Network, it's very likely this decision was done so TV executives can easily find out these shorts and greenlit shows out of them. (I think there have also been comments by Noog (or Butch?) asking people whether or not they would want to see TV series based off them) Which I guess makes sense since Noog was never as popular as YouTube, but... the shorts themselves have little to no plot and are usually composed of pretty tiresome and not very exciting jokes. Like, the only short I maybe liked, was Bug Girl.

Anyway, I find Hartman's attempts to find an audience after that shitstorm of controversies surrounding him was unveiled, really cute and funny 🤣

He's trending on Twatter for (poorly) tracing artwork for one of his 200 dollar commissions again.

Damn man. Still feels kinda low-tier compared to his usual fumbles.
Those fucking eyes look so uncanny, the body pose done in his style also looks terrible and unnatural, as if he tried to cross his style with how anime is supposed to look. The face is literally a potato, and the shading is total shite.

Also, as a reminder: Someone paid $200-300 for this crap.

Karma keep biting Butch Hartman from what I saw on these tweets.

At this rate, I wonder if it wouldn't be better if Butch Hartman stay low and under the radar for now?
I'd actually pay $200 for that monkey's painting.

At this point I'm just wondering if this isn't just some way for him to get attention drawn to himself. Maybe the commissioner was planning for this to happen, but then again, it's wasting money by giving it to Butch.

History likes to repeat itself, though. The fact that he got away with tracing the Ranma commission and is doing the same thing again, I doubt he's going to be stopped any time soon. He's just going to sweep this whole thing under the rug and never talk about it.

The original artist is aware of the situation. They gave another update saying they were going to postpone any new pieces for now until further notice.
That makes me feel bad for that artist. It reminds me of a situation where some RPer stole their artwork and they stopped posting art entirely.
