Well, nothing's shown up on Japanese news sites so far but I'll keep an eye out. If this makes the news at all (probably won't, honestly), it will probably show up here (or just search "suicide" on goo.ne.jp's Tokyo news site or on Yahoo News, which seems to be a little more up to date) or here. But I'm willing to bet most JP news sites will just ignore some American piggu in favor of yet more redundant COVID updates.

What a shame. While a couple users were still critical, the parts after they responded earlier in the thread seemed actually kind of positive. Very rare self-reflection. People clearly kind of just stopped giving a rats ass.

I could understand maybe the feeling of it looming on your back might've been heavy especially with mental instability. I know it must not be nice knowing there's people occasionally looking at your every move but Byuu almost took every necessary step short of actually taking a break from the internet. Buddy, I've dealt with people like that and I can assure you the kind of dogmatism those kinds of people breed in each other in exchange for constant attention and validation has collectively done more harm to people like you than this forum could ever hope to achieve. As crazy it sounds, it really isn't Kiwifarms you're afraid of. You're deathly afraid of the opinions of a collection of people you've never physically met, who have a rainbow colored fursonas and pronouns-in-bio lording incredible amounts of power over you. Even if you wield a lot of power yourself in your circle, even if you've known these people for 10+ years and swear up and down that they "Really care about me!"; They will not hesitate in the slightest to cut you off like a diseased limb. They're the reals ones who will drag your corpse through the mud and do the most damage to you. No matter how much they love bomb you, it will ultimately mean nothing to these people when they cut you off. What type of drama do you think makes up the majority of the threads here?

Sorry, am I missing something? The guy had like a 13 page thread, with nothing of real note or substance (not a dig at the OP, just this was a low milking specimen in the grand scheme of things.

He tried to get his thread removed, is unable to, in 2020. Tries again this year. Makes Null a substantial offer of payment, Null says "lemme take some legal advice on this, but if not, how about a job? Again subject to whatever my legal counsel says", kiddo throws a tantrum, tries sending photos of a really badly tied noose (poor choice of rope, sloppy knotting, not attached to anything that would snap his neck outright, only fit for a stranglewank, really) and then says he's super cereal and totes gonna do it.

His thread was not all that much and nobody would know about it if he kept telling people about it, or kept using the same name online. He actually seemed to do a decent job of DFEing everything on his part, and his work with emulators was pretty darn interesting. He had/has a job which he is clearly into and capable at, and which paid him well, landed Japanese citizenship. Maybe he has mental health issues which are exacerbated by not being on his meds properly, and that's crappy. But it explains why he is so unstable and convinced that all the problems in his life are to do with a 13 page, no more than 260 post thread.

And now people are reading the "headlines" on this, skimming them in the most lazy, slack, cursory way, and immediately jumping to "OMGWTFBBQ KIWI FARMS R BOOOLLLLLLEEEEESSS" kneejerk, reactionary nonsense. Way to prove that most people these days are barely above functioning morons.
