2. Null takes the money - they claim "Null extorted a vulnerable LGBTQQIAP2+ person out of all their money! CANCEL! CANCEL! REEEEEEEEE!"

3. Null takes down the thread - they claim suicide anyhow and claim "Null took down the thread to hide the evidence of how Kiwi Farms cyberboolyed another LGBTQQIAP2+ person into killing themselves! CANCEL! CANCEL! REEEEEEEEE!"

4. Null replies "lol do a flip" - they claim suicide anyhow and claim "Null personally cyberboolyed another LGBTQQIAP2+ person into killing themselves! CANCEL! CANCEL! REEEEEEEEE!"

The whole thing seems almost perfect outrage fuel in any event.

I don't know who this person was. I don't know if he was a good programmer or not. I can respect his determination to keep a historic system going in current year; I have similar retro autist leanings but for the Atari ST. But this doesn't smell right.

I think a good solution might be to flip the script on them and offer to make a donation in his name to a suicide prevention charity. This puts them in the dilemma of "if we harass the charity into refusing the money we don't care about suicide, and if we do nothing we allow Null to launder his reputation."

What's funny is Null still outplayed all of that by straight up asking for the guy's resume.

In order to defend the narrative, these people now have to actually indirectly claim that potentially offering employment is now cyberbullying. Not like most of them probably aren't welfare leeches anyway ala the Portland Potato.

But yeah, things are moving far too fast for this to be organic reactions to somebody's suicide. I'm thinking the hope was that the speed would go unnoticed in the uproar. Once the initial momentum dies down (especially if the guy turns up alive which pretty much is a given for numerous reasons outlined in this thread), this'll sputter out into nothing like every other time. Given the active circle of friends who allegedly have active threads here (I wouldn't know, I don't frequent this part of the site), I'm wondering if this wasn't an attempt to attack through proxy when they found this thread was relatively dead and hoped they could indirectly hurt Null without exposing themselves.

It wasn't really the whole thread, but some one single piece of incriminating or embarrassing evidence (perhaps of a non-obvious character not of interest to Kiwi Farms). Getting the whole thread zapped is a way of getting rid of it without calling attention to it.
