If he really did fake it, which I doubt, I would think the endgame is to get out of the public spotlight completely and either start over new or just not get back online at all, while potentially causing trouble for the farms in the process.

If he faked it, he set up everything perfectly to do that. He released the source code of his current emu project right before the suicide Twitter thread, an emulator which conveniently wraps the functions of BSNES and HIGAN into one package, so if we see new advancements from it, it could be Byuu or easily some other autist. He said himself he's tried to erase his online presence over the last few years, so this could just be his final step before starting over.

Also I assume the people talking about his accounts going private were talking about the Higan Emulator account or his alt account (though the latter has been private since at least December)
