So Loki premiered today on Disney+. I watched the first episode and it was alright. Looking forward to see the rest of the season.

MauLer is doing a stream with Rags and other guests and it will apparently be posted on the Mooler channel later. They rated it 1/10, which according to their rating system is on the same level of Crisis on Infinite Earths (aka "the worst thing we ever watched", according to them).

For those of you who haven't watched it, Loki introduces some major stuff into the MCU, so expect LOTS of nitpicking about it in the following weeks.

Not having watched the stream, I don't need to waste two hours on a reaction I knew would happen, I'm assuming their issues were with the time travel stuff, I figured that would be their reaction when I saw the first trailer, good to see they've become so predictable, at this point I don't understand why they keep watching MCU stuff when they've clearly stopped enjoying it for a while now. And yes I know the main reason they will keep doing MCU stuff: $$$.
Edit: Also if they're bothered by time travel and multiverse stuff, now that Disney have the X-Men and FF, there may be even more time travel multiverse stuff, wonder how they'd react to the Time Broker and Council of Reeds.

Amid the Doomcock drama, I noticed the equally thin-skinned MauLer was also chimping out on Twitter.

Some dude with 7K followers made an obligatory reaction to MauLer wasting 9+ hours on a five-year old film, prompting MauLer to not only get pissy with him, but repost just about every negative thing the internet nobodies wrote in the thread.

Batman is a special exception since it already has a pre-established adult fanbase, and even then the more mature episodes are probably more to the benefit of the writers than any audience. Most kids shows don't write largely for adults, and when these manchildren expect kids TV to be like their Evangelions its like barging into a gay bar and demanding they get some female strippers in there. Just let the kids have something for once. There's nothing wrong with enjoying a children's show, but expecting it to cater to your adult sensibilities is what's really immature.

I personally can't think of a kid's show that wasn't immediately ruined when it tried appealing to its adult fanbase.

Batman The Animated Series was probably the first show that demonstrated to American audiences that animation is a valid medium that can be aimed for adults too. Even though it is pretty tamed and still targeted children, the places that show went was in line with Tim Burton's Batman. It was never afraid to go to dark places, and the writing in that show was high quality and defined modern aspects of Batman's lore.

Even though it is pretty tamed and still targeted children, the places that show went was in line with Tim Burton's Batman. It was never afraid to go to dark places, and the writing in that show was high quality and defined modern aspects of Batman's lore.

The animated series reinvented a lot of the villains. The best example is Mister Freeze, who was a D lister before the cartoon. It brought forth the tragic villain background for him.

There were goofy episodes for sure, (I've got Batman in my basement, anyone?) but so many standout episodes of television and a rock solid feature length movie with Mask of the Phantasm. It's biggest downfall was Bruce Timm's obsession with wanting Bruce and Barbra to fuck.

On their Loki stream. It was kinda unstructured, even by EFAP standards and they didn't even cover the entire episode.... I mean they only had 2 hours...
Content wise they did bring up some interesting points, in particular some of the inherent flaws and contradictions of not only having time cops but introducing them so late in the MCU and essentially making them purposefully stupid (although the MCU does have Wakanda... so it's not out of form). Just sad they decided to spend I don't know how long make melt jokes and not actually exploring the topic and considering how it could have been done better, or at least exploring why it doesn't work in any depth.

Nightwing spent more time with the Teen Titans than Barbara, so he's traditionally paired with Starfire.

But incidentally, the Titans show is going pair Barbara and Nightwing, which I'm sure will piss off comic fans. I'm surprised EFAP has never covered that show.

They still haven't finished Batwoman. And now they're doing Loki. With their wildly inconsistent editing time (can take a day to over half a year) they probably don't have the 'time' for it. Or they simply forgot it existed. Titans isn't having blue checkmarks on Twitter showering it with praise after all. I forgot it existed, to be honest.

On another note, one of the excuses that Southpaw gave when White Knighting MauLer was that he spends a great amount of time arranging the EFAPs. I've mentioned it before, but does it really take that long to do so?

Not necessarily. I think they do it unintentionally, especially with people they have actual grudges against or have followings of equal size, but they definitely make a show of extending olive branches to smaller creators they perceive as inferior, either too induct them or make a small fuss when they are spurned.

What's not unintentional is the shows/films they're targeting nowadays. Their take on Loki is just the latest example of them needing to be contrarians to get attention. Titans will give them more material, but it's on a smaller streaming platform and most of the fanbase hates it. If EFAP agrees with the popular opinion, people don't care because they're not adding anything new.

Speaking of which, MauLer privatized his Father video. It wouldn't surprise me if he took it down over the low views it was generating.
