Can America Maintain Prohibition Now That Canada Has Marijuanized Legaljuana? -

1. Canada has now shoved a large maple dick into the face of half a dozen international drug control treaties that are supposednto explicitly ban marijuana on a world level. Can these treaties be taken seriously if not enforced?
2. The world's longest undefended border now has legal marijuana on one side of it. Can border agents even hope to stop Americans flocking to Canada and smuggling pot south?

Despite the efforts of the esteemed Attorney General Sessions I can say with confidence that weed is here to stay in the US, legal or no. I predict that when the pendulum swings back to the Dems they'll probably legalize it nationwide in order to score points with the prog blocs.

Weed is already legal in all the states worth living in, and might as well be legal everywhere else. It can grow in the shade without being watered and can survive to temps as low as 22 degrees F. With new auto-flowering strains you can grow it under a 20 watt fluorescent and yield a quarter ounce per plant in 2 months time, so no more heat signature for finding growers. Not too mention that hemp seeds, leaves, and fiber are super useful in textile and agriculture. Cannabis plants are people, my friends!

I personally prefer it when everyone else around me is intoxicated in some way. Getting people to do what I want and give me stuff is much easier when they're drunk or high. And if it depresses them, they can just take more and temporarily forget how sad they are that I basically own them.

...Wait, am I talking about me or the government?

I think once the dems get into power weed will become legal. That or Trump will make it legal just because he think it would grab him some more votes.

Public opinion in general is in favor of legalization, with 62% of all Americans in favor, including 74% of all millienials.

By comparison, same sex marriage had a 60% overall approval rating just before Obergefell vs Hodges went through.

I would be surprised if the next Democratic president did not support a measure of legalization, as the war on drugs has proven time and time again to be a failure.

Between weed, alcohol prohibition, and the opium wars, Canada is basically telling the US “How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?!”

I don't really have a problem with weed, but is the argument here that America can't overrule CANADA?

I mean... I'm just sayin'.

No, it's just a matter of time. It's always been just a matter of time. Canada legalizing it will have little, if nothing, to do with it.

Neighboring countries legalizing it actually does have a bigger effect than farther away ones.

We will see the legalization of opium and its derivatives in our lifetimes within the United States. The question is not whether marijuana will be legalized, but how far drug legalization will go. If you are not aware, there is already propaganda that portrays opium as a 'natural herbal medicine' that is 'less harmful than alcohol and tobacco'. Do these statements not remind you of the propaganda for marijuana that we have already heard? The question of drug legalization is a boring one because it needs to happen because of the economic disposition of the United States. We are eventually going to suffer a fate worse than the Great Depression, and the only salve or 'braking measure' for this outcome will be taxation through drug legalization. But the national societal ramifications for such legislative choices is unprecedented in any historical context.

I believe this chain of drug legalization will even be leveraged by the Eastern orthodox schismatic sect in Russia to encourage apostasy from the Catholic Church. I am doing heavy research into this topic before I divulge the lies of this sect in a digestible way, but drug legalization in the United States is paving the way for something that ties directly into authoritarian religiosity, whether you want to believe this fact or not. Nobody except the most depraved souls will ever submit to a country that permits their own destruction by drug consumption.

Must have been a long con then, seeing that whacky tabbacy's underground usage was first popularized by jazz niggers in the 20's.

Sooner or later weed is gonna get legalized. Not because it’s “safer” than other vices we allow to be illegal, or because certain demographics are overwhelmingly targeted for weed-related arrests, but because the government wants to tax it. That is literally the only reason why and anyone who believes otherwise is a fool

Take this recent quote from New Jersey governor Phil Murphy:
ADEE7D79-D835-4AC9-8CB3-6A483C6AE0FC.jpeg

Sure he wraps it up in a lot of nice sounding words like “kids are exposed; bad guys are abusing this; racial inequity” but he also says “it’s not taxed.” Why? Seems like a little crack in the facade. Iirc during his election campaign his only stated reason for weed legalization was because it “overwhelmingly targeted certain demographics in arrests” but I can’t find anything on that quote rn. However, it’s kind of repeated here and it’s the same faulty thinking that’s lead to petty theft being decriminalized in places like San Fran because if “””targets the homeless”””

Mind you I’m not necessarily against the legalization and regulation/taxation of weed, I’m just tired of fellow young people going on about it like it’s a big deal because they formed a drug habit they don’t have a handle on.
Weed is already legal in all the states worth living in
I can gurantee you that California, Washington and New Jersey aren’t worth living in.

Maybe Colorado tho.
