a former Mrs. Sionnach used to dye her hair pink every now and then; it'd start bright then fade to pastel after a few washes
she was bonny enough to pull it off without looking like a tryhard or dangerhair, and it suited her

Answer to OP is yes. Dangerhair is a state of mind. The snow white cracka wastes of molecules march for BLM generally have no particular look except slovenliness, and have that dangerhair attitude. Dangerhair is a symptom of an empty vessel making the most noise, among other things like poor personal grooming and bad attitude, but it's one among many things.. Unless hair dye has something weird in it, it's just hair dye. Let the friend do what makes her feel truly herself.

i've had both very short hair and unnatural ombre hair.
they're very similar in that strangers will talk to you about your hair a lot, you'll get stared at, you'll get hit on by lesbians, and it requires lots of maintenance to look stylish. if you're really into it and you're ready to accept the consequences, i say go for it. hair will grow back.

personally, i just got tired about it after about a year, but it was fun while it lasted.

I’ll admit, I think dark purple hair looks really gorgeous. Not like a bright ‘Leela from Futurama’ color but a deep, rich purple. Like this:

I’d do it myself but the upkeep is probably a bitch... unnatural colors tend to rinse out really fast, even when professionally done.

This color with a hint more red is super popular with the trailer park sluts around my area.
At one point I had a trailer park slut as a roommate and she brought her mother and her sister over so they could all dye their hair this color in the living room. We had splots on the floor for the rest of my tenancy.

Yeh, especially pinks and purples from my experience, professionally done or not. In fact, my stylist basically told me that if I want light/pastel purple, I'd better just get a bright purple and wash it out.

When you get those sorts of colours, you gotta get them dyed in a way that won't look weird when you inevitably grow it out so you can keep upkeep costs down as low as possible.

Also this. Most red/purplish red colours are slut colours where I am. It's sad, because it does look nice when done right.

Depends, are you an entertainer? If yes, are you needing to find something to signify your look? If yes, does your look blend well with the theme? If yes, you're not a dangerhair

Does dying your hair white/silver make you a dangerhair? I've always thought it looked nice on some girls, especially the dark silver.

It doesn't make you a dangerhair but light silver or white is hard as all fuckery and will absolutely damage your hair. You have to bleach the living fuck out of it and then tone it to hell and back. Then it'll look like trash in two weeks when the roots start coming in. I do not recommend doing silver or white unless you are starting from natural platinum blonde. Just get a high quality wig.

I think the general trick is weak colors/pastels. Bright neon is for whoring attention, and dark/bright is for ghetto latinos to snap their fingers at you.

Only downside is that you have to dye it a brighter colour at first to get that nice pastel look after a few washes. If you just go dye it a pastel colour you run the risk of washing everything out and just being blonde.

But I agree, pastel colours are less dangerish and more people should try them.

The white blonde is a favourite of the pro scene bikini/bodybuilding girls in my area. It absolutely looks gorgeous and many that get it are quite fair to begin with so the roots don't look totally shit, but when they get closer to competition time and slather on that fake tan, it just makes them look like a fucking muppet. Professional photoshoots don't do it justice because of lighting, posing etc. Its something you have to see irl with your own eyes.

My wife does that shit where she puts a purple cast on her hair. She is always fucking with it to keep that look up, and you can only really see it in sunlight after probably a week. She is also constantly beset by lesbians.

Am lawyer, every chick that needs represented on hard drug charges has pastel hair. For whatever that's worth.

A very dark violet can look very nice IMO, especially on highlights where it can be blended in (if natural color is dark) and create a textured, but not obtrusive look. Pastel colors should largely be kept in the 2013 vault.

What if you have naturally black hair, but because genetics suck, you have random white hairs. If those hairs were dyed pastel would it be an appropriate reason to take pastels out of the vault. We're talking about no more than two hairs together, they're scattered like weeds.

For sure, pastels have their place. As highlights though that would be a chore to maintain, just for baby highlights, but that's just me. Maintaining a pastel is like teetering on a color ledge.

I just figured a pastel would work best because it wouldn't change the natural black so I could put it all over my head. I wouldn't need two processes because the whites are already white... trying to make the best of a frustrating situation. I'm afraid to go with a non-pastel because I don't want to be a weird danger hair. It's hard to keep up with because I don't really get roots, the black still grows in black and the white just grows white.

"Pastel would work best for natural black"? I'm not an expert but I'm not sure what you mean. And "Put it all over your head"? I'm worried that if this is DIY your roots are going to process at a different rate than I assume your already lightened hair, which I get, you don't want to bleach over bleach. If you want pastel all over no judgement, but do go to a professional because black to a tone that accepts pastel will more than likely need multiple processes, depending on the color you're shooting for.

I don't have any bleached hair, it's just shitty genes are making my scalp spit out white hairs, and they're really obvious because I have black hair. With the exception of my temples, they're not clumped together, they're just here and there. I hate the way it looks and it ages me. It doesn't come it at the roots like normal roots, the dark hair still comes in at the roots, but the white hairs come in here and there like weeds, make more sense? It's like salt and pepper hair, except starker because there's not that much white, no grey, just naturally black hair with annoying wiry whites wherever they feel like popping up. To better explain it, I have curly hair, and there might be only one or two whites per ringlet.

I can't just color my hair the natural color, even salon dyed darkest brown-black still looks goth. I've tried going lighter, which doesn't make my hair lighter, but does turn the whites a golden shade, which is less aging and obvious. But I was thinking of giving this a try: https://overtone.co/collections?type=coloringConditioner&colorCategory=fantasy&color=teal in the pastel so that only the white hairs would absorb the color (If I used a darker color, it would probably give my hair an overall tinge of whatever color), and it might look interesting. As long as these hair weeds are going to stick out, maybe make them interesting? I don't know.

I haven't colored my hair since before covid, and just cut it, so I doubt there's any color left in it at this point.
