Hello fellow BC folk! Canada's pretty rad. I've lived here for a while, though I'm stuck on Vancouver Island. I wasn't born in Canada though, so I'm still in the process of getting Canada-ized. It's really pretty around here, even if there isn't a lot to do.
That's pretty cool, where about the island you live? Been there quite a few times, especially Comox, Nanaimo and Victoria.
I love Canada for not being America.

I'm not Canadian and have never visited Canada, but nanaimo bars and poutine taste good.
You should try beaver tails.
I imagine beaver tails would taste similar to funnel cakes. They are both deep-fried dough desserts with topping. They would have a different consistency, though.
Funnel cakes are much lighter while beaver tails are much more substantial. I find beaver tails much more satisfying than funnel cakes.
Wouldn't beaver tails be like a thick, fried piece of dough? Similar to a donut?
