Oh ffs. Really? Just to be clear this guy doesn't really use youtube for his profession right? I ask that, because if that's the case, this guy is literally using other content creators (on Youtube) as his shield even though that has nothing to do with his feud with Crowder since the latter is only going after the former.

I'm no fan of Crowder, but if he and/or other sues this pos and/or Vox for this, then they have my support. I have to wonder if even that may be a bridge too far for this spastic, but I would not be shocked. This entire debacle shows that the idiots at Vox either don't know who they are dealing with or have vastly underestimated the dumpster fire they have lit. When they went after PewDiePie and Alex Jones they were going after a swedish twitch streamer and a crackpot conspiracy theorist respectively. Both had large platforms and followings, but not much influence outside their very niche corners of the cultural zeitgeist.

Crowder is an entirely different kettle of fish. He's normie as fuck, and has had politicians and big time conservative pundits like Ben Shapiro on his show. The dude has influence outside his corner, and his lawyer probably has congressmen on his phones contact list by name. They probably assumed he was the safer conservative pundit to hit as opposed to going after someone like Shapiro, but then we need to consider how hard they have been trying to sandbag Tucker Carlson.

It paints a very nasty picture, and sadly I am with Tim Poole. Its pushes the clock a few minutes foreword to midnight on the political divide in this country. At this point the Government really needs to consider tard wrangling these idiots before things get really far out of hand. Maza claims he is now receiving death threats, and I believe him. He now has 110,000 followers, up 40,000 in less than a month. He only follows 250 people. Like his activity on Youtube, where he all he does is drop his weak propaganda videos, his activity on Twitter is wholly limited to narcissistic and selfish aims. So many Twitters and Youtube users are supporting him even though he doesn't give a crap about them at all or their platforms, he only cares about his own cringeworthy selfish enrichment. All those supporting him are being played for suckers.

After stepping back for a while and looking at the whole situation, you two are very much spot on, there's no conspiracy, no Vox trying to take down Youtube.

Carlos makes videos for Vox showing his ugly face in front of the camera, he is in an open relationship, he posts dickpix and gay cuck porn on Reddit. I searched some keywords on his Twitter and found a few interesting tweets

The first tweet is just 2 months old, responding to Crowder saying videos like that don't bother him. 2nd one, last year September, posted ~6 months after the tweet I posted yesterday where he said Crowder doesn't bother him, but suddenly he does? 3rd tweet, he's mostly joking about it in replies. Last, 4th tweet, posted on the same day as he started this whole drama, again, he seems perfectly calm.

What I'm trying to establish is that Carlos is a massive attention whore. All the open relationships shit, posting porn on reddit, Tweets where he constantly flips his opinions and tries new things to get attention. As the 2nd screen, hell even the 4th one shows, he tried to do this "I'm being bullied" shtick multiple times in the past.

This time though, he detailed it much more, convenient timing just as Pride month was starting certainly helped, so did exposure boost from Twitter and all the articles written - I wonder if he tipped off some Twitter and journo friends before he went on his rant.

As others have said, getting Crowder demonetized or deplatformed doesn't help Vox at all, as these rule changes usually fuck up the platform as a whole, not just specific creators. And this guy works for the video team as far as I'm aware, and Youtube getting worse would only encourage them to shrink that department and either move him to a different one or fire him. I don't think trying to move Youtube audience back to websites like Vox works either, it's more likely they'll move to other social media like Twitter/FB or follow the old creators. Though Memology's point about the Vox union shit might have influenced Carlos to do this, maybe he wants to get hired elsewhere.

All in all, this is basically just 1 guy sniffing an opportunity to gain relevance and get his 15 minutes of fame by weaponizing outrage, and possibly use this as a career advencement, since everyone knows his name now - no big conspiracy here.
Meanwhile, Crowder, even if he's demonetized and deplatformed, doesn't lose all that much, he already has a platform outside Youtube and doesn't need their monetizing, and he's milking this a lot just like Carlos and is trying to direct his audience there instead of Youtube. The figs thing is also pathetic, great joke there Steven.

Grifters and attention whores will get what they want and continue their careers while hiding behind bigger goals like "free speech" or "bigotry on Youtube", smaller innocent creators get hit, Youtube gets that little bit worse, and in 1 week we'll all forget this.

Especially for conservatives. Lord knows if this was happening to liberals during the Obama years action would have been swift and immediate. In a way its the actions of an evil genius to use conservative beliefs against them. Watching Ben Shapiro go through mental contortions to come up with some way to counter what Silicon Valley is doing that doesn't violate capitalist and limited government principles is amusing, but also frustrating. Because there isn't a solution from those areas. Nobody is going to make competition for Youtube, and nobody is going to make competition for Visa and Mastercard.

More broadly though, I don't think Conservative political theory has really grappled well with the idea that there could conceivably be privately owned organizations that possess equivalent power to the Government. Or in some cases even exceed government power. The information Google and Amazon possess on every American citizen would probably make the FBI and NSA blush, and also lead to massive congressional investigations/political scandals if it turned out they did have that information and were using it actively. Hell, people flipped their shit when Snowden revealed the NSA was saving everyone's Emails. Yet that is what Google does every day with Gmail, and its tame by comparison to what the internet Cookie system run by and shared between all these companies does. Hell, Amazon now has little spy machines in millions of American homes. Just ask Alexa if she is always listening. You get a corporate disclaimer response. (it is).

The power these companies hold is so great that if Google, Visa/Mastercard, Amazon and Apple got together and decided they would implement a similar system to the Chinese Communist Parties social credit system, they would be able to do it. And worse, they would be able to ENFORCE it. Without any action needed by the government. That is a frightening amount of power.

On an additional note, it's not just that Maza went after Crowder, he went after Crowder while Crowder lives and produces his show in Texas.
If this was against Shapiro, this trashfire might have ended up in a California court as both Shapiro and Maza live there.
But since Crowder is in Texas, this changes a certain dynamic on how this trashfire might escalate.
Anyone following Meyer v. Waid or Mignogna v. Funimation et al might recognize the potential of this becoming a lawsuit based on Tortious Interference with Business Prospect Relations.
Granted, there's the Anti-SLAPP motion that needs to be addressed as well as the issue of jurisdiction.
But if these issues are cleared, prepare for some serious mooing from lolcows across the internet.
