Well, the newest movie from Pixar has been officially announced. Cars 3 will be coming to theaters near you in Summer of 2017.
So here, let's discuss our thoughts on Cars 3, the sequel to Cars 2 and another movie in the Cars franchise.
I'll be editing this thread with each new trailer that comes out.

Now, we've actually been given a hint at what the movie is going to be like, thanks to this plot synopsis by Wikipedia (using IGN as their source)
Note: I could be wrong.
"Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!"

Alright, now to talk about something more personal. As you guys might know (and if you don't, watch the video at the very top of this thread), the teaser trailer had shown Lightning McQueen crashing, obviously. Now, this does seem a bit dark and apparently, a large chunk of the internet agrees with me.
Article after article coming out about how people might think this will be too dark to show to kids and I have to say I boldly disagree with this notion. No movie can be too dark for children in my opinion, whats wrong with exposing them to harsh reality? They're gonna see shit much, MUCH darker than a cartoon car crashing in their lifetime, hell, worse can happen while they are teenagers and knowing the target demographic for a Cars movie, this can be in as little as a year (Target demographic being 8-12)
Besides, fans of the original are starting to grow up now, the first movie was 10 years ago people. Sure, you can make the argument that we werent expecting a darker movie, but what does that really mean in terms of a real argument about this movie being too dark to show to kids?
Kids movies like The Hunchback of Notre Dam and Bambi used to be acceptable for kids and holy fuck, those were grim. Meanwhile, Cars 3 is considered too dark for kids these days.
I hate to be one of THOSE people, the ones that yearn for the old days and think the modern age is stupid, but what happened man? whats happened over the years that has made society think that kids can't handle dark stuff at all and everything must be watered down?
If you can't handle a fucking Cars movie, I think you seriously need to stay away from media and entertainment.

This new footage of the movie has come out. I think the movie is beautiful but disappointing. I was really hoping for something darker.
