Have you raised cats before? Honestly, at 6 months they should be able to take care of themselves for the most part, so long as you feed them and clean their litterboxes. They will still have some kitten (Adorable) stupidity but they will begin maturing very fast at that age.

Indoors only is good.

Get scratching posts and place them around the house. Cats are basically OCD so it's best to get them hooked on scratching certain things early.

Yeah I had a big stray before, he was my best buddy. These guys were farm kittens. I'm looking for ways to keep them entertained when we are at work. Scratching trees fucking everywhere.

They get along or are siblings? If so, they should be able to keep themselves entertained.

Try looking into getting a cat condo (Unless that's what you mean by a scratching tree) as well, which should have scratching material on it. A lot of them are total shit so try and get one that has a display model at a store and shake it a bit to see how stable it is. Cats like high places.

A few simple toys are good. Some tossing ones with catnip will keep them occupied (Test catnip on them first though. Most are fine but some cats get unreasonably aggressive when on the stuff.) and cat dancers are good. I was able to jam a cat dancer pole in between my couch's armrest and cushion, dangling the string and that kept my cats occupied a lot.

But yeah, if you had a cat before there's nothing really new here. 6 month old kittens are basically teenagers and if they haven't started their growth spurt yet, blink once and check again.

That being said they still have some dumb kitten traits. They might try and eat whatever it is you're eating, thinking you're trying to show them how to eat. I have a cat that I got at 6 months and he ended up wanting to drink coffee that way, despite him obviously hating the smell, which is super bad for cats. They'll usually grow out of that as they get a few months older but just keep that in mind if you leave something like coffee lying around normally.

Two cats are usually able to entertain themselfs, but it's a good idea to get some batting toys for them. Like a milk lid- except that's just going to happen. More like what I got my 2 year old, little foam soccerballs. The hardest part with kittens is getting them trained to USE the scratching post. They generally get smarter as they get older though.

Yeah Minnie will drink tea when we aren't looking. I'm mostly concerned about keeping them entertained and stimulated.

Avoid playing rough with your hands as they learn to attack hands as a sign of play. Also it's good to feed them right after play time. It's recommended you play with them a bit at least in the morning and evening, both as bonding and just to keep them worn out a bit.

My cat has (still has) a weird fascination with foil. When he was a kitten he chewed up candy foil and was sick for a couple of days. Our vet said he had aluminum poisoning so we gave him lots of fluids and make sure to put any foil in a trash can with a lid. He recovered quickly but I had no idea this could happen and I've had cats all my life. You have to cat-proof your home, like parents child-proof a house.

The cat condo/cat tree is a great idea, I have a couple. Make sure they have scratching posts or they'll scratch your furniture to shreds.

I've been told to use foil on counters as a deterrent!

I try to keep food and water pretty far apart. I have two cats at my place.

I use three of those big gaudy coffee mugs that hold like two cups of coffee for water bowls.

As far as I understand for litter and water have at least one more than you have cats, the theory is that way if one is occupied the other cat can still feel like he has a choice for which to use

There are 2 big boxes, but they will both use the same box at the same time, all while looking at the humans.

Oh, also those litter boxes with the lids and handles on top are fucking great so you don't have to hold them near you when you take them outside to clean them.
