Lolcow Charlie Zelenoff - UBF World Champion

I noticed Charlie mentioned in the martial arts lolcows thread, and I felt he deserved a thread of his own. Charlie Zelenoff , resident of Los Angeles, is the current UBF (Underground Boxing Federation) champion, a league he created himself, complete with a championship belt rumoured to be bought from Toys 'r Us

He lives at home with his parents, and trains himself in the laundry room of his apartment complex. Currently at 190-0, his modus operandi is to offer random gym goers money to spar; What the unsuspecting opponent believes will be a friendly spar quickly turns into Charlie sucker punching his partner and then proceeding to wail on them. Charlie will then upload the fights onto youtube, invariably claiming his opponent to be a "kung fu champion", "marine" and "cruiser weight boxing champion" among others.

Sometimes Charlie bites off more than he can chew; He paid for three rounds of sparring with former amateur heavy weight "Derek The Giant" and things didn't go exactly to plan.

Charlie also managed to provoke reigning WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder into a bout. The results were as expected

Zelenoff was defeated after being disqualified in the first round of the fight after repeatedly spitting his gum sheild out.[2]

After the fight the Arkansas State Athletic Commission suspended Zelenoff's licence for 45 days.[3]

Zelenoff is currently scheduled to make his return to the ring in June 2009 against Paul "Hillbilly Pimp" Gardner in Arkansas. He is the 10 - 1 outsider at the bookies as critics are yet to be convinced by his chin, heart and general ability.

More recently, Zelenoff made news by making claims that after his match with Paul Gardner he will be going for the vacant TPS MW title, and will unify the Lightweight, Welterweight and Middleweight titles.

Yeah, I wasn't really surprised to see someone had made a page for him. I was equally unsurprised to see it had been deleted. He did indeed have one professional fight, but was disqualified for repeatedly spitting out his mouthguard. Charlie tends to run out of steam pretty quick, if his opponent has any kind of skill.

Charlie invited "tomato can" (it means easy beat) Andrew "Kid Thunder" Hartley, 1-13, to Los Angeles for a rematch, but backed out at the last minute, instead offering to street fight him, which Andrew refused. He then bravely punched Andrew in the face while he was sitting in a chair.

As far as I can tell he's not in it for the views; mostly he just wanders around into boxing gyms and talks shit till he gets beat up. I think that's how he got the Mayweather fight lol, just random chance. As for Deontay Wilder, he abused him for years over the phone and on twitter, calling him a nigger and talking about taping up his daughters mouth etc. He just ran into Chuck Lidell on the street. He makes a regular habit of calling out pro fighters; If you do it enough I suppose eventually one or two will bite.

Arrested in 2012 for robbery.

About the incident:

i beat a 310lb Golden Gloves Boxer fair and square with gloves and he didnt take the loss like a true sportsman he attacked me after I beat him i defended my self and because the witnesses were African Americans I got arrested he was black 310lb Pounder he was 26-7 Golden Gloves Fighter Now hes 26-8 I won 1 sided he attacked me he vandalized the gym he is an obvious suspect and a criminal but yet they arrested me but they let me go my bail was 20,000 but they let me go because Im innocent. 149-0

Definitely something questionable in the brain there. Normally boxers get beat up a lot and then lose their minds, but Chuck seems to be doing things the other way around.

I think the father might be the key to everything, though. He seems to support his son in all of his crazy, even paying for these fights, but if he's there holding the camera he has to see that his kid's constantly losing. His apology to Hartley almost sounded sincere, but then he walked it back and swore Chuck won. Is this his weird version of living the American Dream? Is he delusional too? Or is he humoring his brain-damaged son?

I'm no expert, but god damn. His stance is way too wide for boxing, he constantly drops his hands, he rarely follows up after his first jab, and when he gets gassed, I swear he's jabbing at the family jewels. He could probably fix these problems if he was properly coached, but he seems like the sort of narcissist that refuses criticism.
