This all started because some Algerian taxi driver hit some Chechen in Dijon, before promising to shoot him. In response the Chechens in all of France declared Jihad.
As a result of recent fights between Chechens and Algerians, this has escalated into a multiday war against eachother. All the Chechen men are walking around patrolling the street with iron bars, knives, baseball bats and guns. There's lots of footage of them walking around with guns, even firing them and 1 victim who was shot so far.
Similar to how Albanians were bullied by other ethnicities in the late 90s for not being "real", the Chechens in this case are seen as fake muslims particularly seeing as they're such a minority. The Chechens make up a far smaller percent of the population then the black muslims, which is why Chechens came from all across France.
French police are suppose to be sending in reinforcements but they've almost evacuated the situation so far, with nobody being arrests despite this going on for days.
Media in france and abroad aren't reporting on this at all, I really had to search just to find any articles mentioning this chaos.
