Honestly to me it seems like a stalemate, they had their chimpouts and for now it's settled with the increased police attention. The chechens went back to their homes and the Algerians didn't do shit. I would say if you're talking causalities and damage done that the chechens won, but they also had more arrested.

An old professor once told me that compared to the Turks, a fundamental difference with the Algerians was apparently the lack of a strong patriarchal system within the household. In Algerian households, male children were given considerably freer reign than in Turkish ones (where it was expected that you followed a life path that your father/parents wanted you to follow).

How in a Fuck can a modern Western European country have a death toll that high? There was a major heat wave during Europe at that time and the rest of the countries did not even come close to what happened in France.
I'm bringing this up is to this day, France is an illusion of Western Modernization but in reality it's a fucked up place. Seeing racial factions going to war is not uncommon over there.
