Chel has a point with "locking content behind a paywall" but I only see it fit if it's something that is going to be valuable to some. I like the idea of people getting things like pictures or prints and even early access to art and access to the PDN/etc. I don't like, however, when they lock specific things in Patreon and other services and say "pay me or fuck off" essentially. If it's something that is specifically "you must pay to see this" like a doujin or a video, then I accept that this is something that should be worth money; I know an artist who did the former and it's at 1 dollar. But when it's something like a piece of art that you could easily say, like the artist I mentioned before, "I will make this art exclusive for one month" then you may not be on good terms with a lot of people.
What should be locked behind Patreon is something that people would want to spend money on or something that would be meaningful, even if it is something like prints or a beta for a game. What shouldn't is things that can be found on the internet easily and also reposted.
