How bad is the sediment situation? My local river went from "able to dive in head first" to "wade across in certain areas" due to sediment filling in over the course of a few decades.

Point being the flooding will get worse because the river is filled in.

I mean, the way it happened in my area, a state said "we'll straighten the river!" Unfortunately, this meant all the sediment flowed into the neighboring state that did not straighten the river, which caused all the sediment deposit there.

Anyway, the way China has been building things and probably fucking with nature, they are probably well on their way to world of shit.

Well even a 99% likelihood still isn't a guarantee.

If it isn't this year or the next, it's fucking soon. The situation at the 3GD can only get worse as I really fucking doubt that China is going to do much of anything to fix it between the sediment issue to the inter mechanisms breaking down to the cocky attitude on their part, especially now that they stopped showing the water level. There's definitely a disaster coming, but you have to wait patiently for it to happen. You can't just do a rain dance and expect rain.

I do wonder what the effects of blowing up all those dams upstream will do to the water level this year. Lower, but by how much?

Was the cam ever official or was it just something someone managed to hide there? I can see the CCP having a camera constantly livestreaming the dam for propaganda purposes, but not having one on during all the flooding.
