It’s pretty funny that the likes of Rebecca Gerber, Jake Alley, Matt Myers and other dregs of humanity are screeching about KiwiFarms rather than what she literally killed herself over.

It's 100% predictable. None of them *care* what she killed herself over. She's just a pawn to them and none of them want to look closely at her complaints about mental health care and homelessness because doing so might raise questions about why they don't help the mentally ill and homeless trans people they know.

From Rani's TL. I wonder how many others will work up the courage to mention mental health services and housing.

So basically I'm now just waiting for us to get on The New Yorker and Times magazine at this point.

QUICKLY, WE MUST BULLY HARDER.

On a serious note, really goes to show how fucked our mental health system is, and how everyone just has to blame us instead of facing the music because we are the ones that just say the facts and call out the bullshit.

immolation is horrific, I hope the first responders are okay. It was no doubt awful for Chloe, that goes without saying, I just also feel for the first responders and bystanders.
She just had to go out in a dramatic way.

Been skimming this thread. She was honestly a pretty horrible person, but it's still a shame that she died. It's especially a shame that she's just died and now people are using her corpse as a stepping stool to preach from.

Nobody wants to admit that she was repeatedly homeless because she was too difficult to live with. Doing so would raise too many questions which no-one wants to answer. It's preferable to find a distraction from those questions and we're it.

I presume this is in the news thread but I don't think it's here yet, the writer of the first article has made a follow-up article that provides more details, along with some lies from guilty "friends" of Sagal's that try to paint the blame on Kiwi Farms. http://archive.md/kzJ0E

On Saturday, June 16th, Sagal was threatening suicide and the police were called, they found Sagal wielding a machete when they arrived but managed to get Sagal disarmed and on an ambulance which took her to Unity Center for Behavioral Health. According to AJ Luxton, a friend who spoke to Sagal on Monday over the phone, Sagal told them she had "spent two days sitting in triage" and "was never properly hospitalized."
Several days before, on Saturday, police had taken her into custody after responding to a report that she wanted to harm herself.

She had a machete when officers arrived, but they diffused the situation, according to Sgt. Chris Burley, Portland Police Bureau spokesman.

The police report for Saturday's incident has not been released, but Burley said Sagal was taken by ambulance to Unity Center for Behavioral Health.

What happened to Sagal at Unity has not been publicly disclosed.

"Due to federal privacy protection regulations for patients, we are unable to confirm any information related to any patient at Unity Center," Unity spokeswoman Kristin Whitney said by email.

Luxton, who spoke to Sagal on Monday over the phone, said Sagal "spent two days sitting in triage at the Unity Center; she was never properly hospitalized."

"I had visited the Unity Center with her in March 2017 for about half an hour, and we had given them my information to keep on file as an emergency contact," Luxton added, "so I also theoretically could have been contacted while she was there Saturday or Sunday."

But Luxton was not notified and didn't know Sagal had been taken to Unity until Monday.

Sagal had been staying with some people since March, when she was released from Unity on Monday she came home only to find that the roommates " had decided they could no longer take care of her." This is what triggered Sagal into actually committing suicide.

Sagal wrote two notes on Monday and left them at the house, one was a suicide note and she left her van for whoever needed it, and said she wanted her death to not be "silent" and instead be "loud and political." She also said that her "entire life," "experience," and "education" had all "led up to this moment" and that she could only expect "trauma and death" from her existence.

Monday was the last day many of her friends heard from her. She spoke with several friends and left two notes at the house where she had been staying.

One of those notes, the text of which was sent to The Oregonian/OregonLive, appears to be a suicide note.
"Whoever needs my van and the things in it should have it," the note reads. "It's parked around the corner ... the keys are in the mailbox and the title is in the van."

"My death cannot be silent," it continues. "It has to be loud and political. My entire life, my experience, my education has led up to this moment. I can only expect trauma and death from my existence."
Sagal was last seen at 7 AM and 9:30 AM by an acquaintance, and later Sagal made her way to the park with crutches, the manifesto about homelessness and mental health, and a lighter and accelerant. According to witnesses, Sagal spoke about homelessness and mental health issues, one witness said Sagal talked about people's "right to housing" and said that some people "end up being abused and hurt" when in police custody, and that "many people are jailed for crimes of necessity." Sagal escalated into "screaming her message" shortly before dousing and igniting herself.
Luxton said their partner saw Sagal twice, once around 7 a.m. and once around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The partner told Sagal that Luxton would be back from California in the late afternoon.

After that, the next time Sagal was seen was walking into the park.
"She was reading a statement about homelessness and mental health issues," Donna Maxey later told The Oregonian/OregonLive.

Maxey was sitting in the park across from the Multnomah County Courthouse on the warm afternoon, and she listened to Sagal.

Maxey said she agreed with what Sagal was saying, that people have a right to housing, that when some people go into police custody they end up being abused and hurt, that many people are jailed for crimes of necessity.

By this point, Sagal was screaming her message.
According to a bystander who tried to save Sagal, they asked why she had done it and Sagal told them it was because she was homeless and she didn't know what else she could do.

That seems to be about the end of the factual aspects of the article, what remains is the commentary from guilty "friends" who seem to have conspired to pass the blame onto the Kiwi Farms, in the same article where Chloe herself blames her actions on being "homeless" after getting kicked out of the housing she had been in since March the day before her death.

I'll try to do a quick fact check, and I'll admit I'm not an expert on this drama.

It is extremely easy to see when this thread was made, April 2015, not even at the height of Sagal's Gamergate antics in late 2014 nor during the crowdfunding drama in 2013. Doing a search, I don't see a single mention of Chloe Sagal until 2015 on this site, which isn't to say it did not happen, but it does not appear that it did.

The crowdfunding scandal did indeed occur in 2013 (which was before Gamergate and Sagal inserting herself into the spotlight through that drama) and it resulted in someone losing their job for exposing Sagal's scam. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/...cessfully-crowd-funding-life-saving-operation

They also improperly call New York magazine the "New Yorker magazine" (New York was made as a competitor to The New Yorker) and of course absolutely no one ever investigates that hit piece to see that it was produced as part of a coordinated harassment campaign directed at Null and his family that continues to this day. If you can't even get the name of the publication correct, why not just repeat whatever it says as gospel.

Sagal's "livelihood and mental stability" were clearly going to abysmal regardless of what anyone on the internet said about her. Sagal was responsible for years of harassment, suicide threats, death threats, rape threats, threats of bodily harm, etc. directed at whomever was unfortunate enough to get on her bad side. She was permanently banned multiple times on Twitter (and likely other platforms) for her violent, abusive behavior. People had to get restraining orders against her. As has been said by others, Sagal suffered from severe mental illness and never got proper care.

AJ Luxton, the one who said they talked to Sagal on Monday when she was in the hospital and claimed to have been out of state when it was going down, lied and claims that "whenever [Sagal] talked about suicide" "Kiwi Farms members" would "report her Facebook page and get it locked down" and then lies further and says that "happened multiple times in the month prior to her death."

Sagal seemingly stopped using her Facebook in August 2017. There were no public posts since then. There was no activity on this thread since December 2017. The only activity from Sagal that I can see was on her Patreon where she was quietly uploading artwork and discussing her project for the past months. If Sagal actually was posting on Facebook and getting locked down for suicide threats, then it clearly was her "friends" who had access to the private posts and unlikely to have been anyone else.

I don't know if Luxton was one of the ones Sagal was staying with that kicked her out after her Saturday machete freak out, nor to what degree of guilt Luxton has in contributing to Sagal taking her own life, but clearly Luxton has a guilty conscience and is ready and willing to lie, making all of their statements (including the alleged phone call with Sagal at the hospital) suspect.

You should have written the article. It's better written and better fact-checked than most of the stuff media outlets pump out these days.

For any outsiders who may be browsing this thread in light of what happened, we really need to reiterate that KIWI FARMS IS IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR CHLOE'S SUICIDE. This thread was dead for a full 6 months before Chloe's suicide. I really doubt that Chloe was thinking of this website in her final moments, considering that it fell off of her radar half a year ago. She had much bigger things to worry about than an internet gossip forum.

Also, Kiwi Farms does not initiate "harassment campaigns." We watch. We comment. We laugh. Anyone who tries to troll a lolcow and brags about it is mocked mercilessly. People have been banned from this site for harassing thread subjects on Twitter. Pretty much all discussion and "cyberbullying" is restricted to this site, meaning that literally all you have to do is not visit this website if you don't want your feelings to get hurt. Yeah, we're dicks. But we're not sociopathic monsters who gleefully torment people into committing suicide for lulz.

But it's easier to blame the cyberbully boogeyman than it is to really think about the extremely complex issue of mental illness- especially when it's tied to homelessness- and how it's dealt with. If these people got as riled up about mental health as they do about GamerGate, Kiwi Farms, and 4chan, maybe they could actually change the world for the better.

Some random homeless uggo burns themselves to death and no one bats an eyelash in Portland, yet when they find out it's some ugly internet famous weirdo it suddenly becomes a "thing"?

Chloe was homeless and useless by their own doing and the fact that they decided to go out in a dramatic fashion doesn't change a thing.

No one read that stupid manifesto anyway.
