As a psychology student, I try to understand the way people think but I do not understand Anna at all. She claims that Chris is her best friend and that she is protecting him, all the bull, but she is probably the worst friend I have ever seen.

She constantly gets herself into his drama (which as a friend is not the best thing to do), she critcizes Chris for some of his homophobic thoughts yet uses the f word to insult people and then defend Chris for all of his actions.

Plus, as a friend, she would have helped him but she thinks he is fine right now, which he isn't. So, I want to know. Do you think she is the worst person Chris can have as a friend right now?

I don't think she's the WORST friend in the world, objectively speaking. I have friends who are like Anna - they will never say anything negative to someone they consider a friend. I also have friends who will bluntly tell me when I'm wrong. I also have family that I see rarely (thank THE BEAR) who love nothing more than to try to shred me when I see them, and will say awful things regardless of if they are true. The secret is balance. Everyone should have someone in their life who props them up no matter what. Sometimes you just need to hear that you're OK, even when you've screwed up. And everyone needs someone in their life who will tell them the truth, even if it hurts, although hopefully in a kind-ish way. I wouldn't wish hateful people on anyone, but sometimes, it helps to give me perspective, when they start spouting their crap, and I can honestly say that the terrible things aren't true.

The problem with the Chris/Anna setup is that she is the ONLY kind of friend he has. He doesn't have a balance. So her actions cause far more harm than they would to anyone else.

Her asspats can get really bad. She's said things to Chris that are on par with her telling Chris he's in the right when he wanted Mimms' girlfriend to die. (that's just an example, I can't say the specific one, lest Chris figure out which conversation of theirs he leaked and to who)

And yeah, I can't decipher Anna either. Like, even if, hypothetically, you wanted to boost Chris' self esteem, you could do it without telling Chris he's in the right when he's violent or has violent thoughts. There is a middle ground, you know.

The only possibility I can imagine that makes sense is if Anna has the same opinion on Chris that I do: that he's an incurable pussy and there's no genuine danger with being pretty generous with the compliments. Otherwise, I can't make heads or tails of what Anna is trying to do.

When Chris wanted Mimm's girlfriend dead she didn't say "Chris you should never wish someone dead just to prove a point! That's horrible!" all she said was something like 'Don't do that because you might get in trouble."

Does she just say a few nice things to him every so often to periodically reinforce his delusions, or are they in constant contact with each other?

Nah, she's bullshitting about that. Anna's not very close to Chris. She occasionally publicly gives him asspats, but she doesn't have many private dealings with him.
