Do you think Chris completely understands death? He clearly didn't whenever his dog died, but I think that given Bob's death and how Chris has mourned on Facebook that he may have finally come to terms with it.

However, there still stands the matter of how lightly does he take death if he threatens others, including Mimms's girlfriend, with the very serious danger of murder. (:_(

Death comes for us all, Christian Weston Chandler, but something much worse comes for you, for when you die, it will be ... without honor.

It's more about how selfish he is. He knows how painful the death of someone close to you is, but he has no problem imposing that pain on other people, in particular innocent people.

Edit: Also, like someone else said, he keeps talking about how empathetic he is, but he's almost the opposite of empathetic.

He's the opposite of all the good qualities he claims to possess.

Chris understands death about as much as the average person does. He just doesn't care unless it's someone who could provide him something he wants.

The closest he comes to possessing empathy is when he endures suffering, and then thinks to himself "how can I weaponize this suffering against other people?" He has no trouble doing so against innocents, like you say, because his lack of empathy means he thinks they don't deserve respect unless they purchase it from him with great tribute and coddling.

That was me on the mega-thread:

Y'know, this is an excellent point. Chris making childish death threats was one thing when he had never experienced the loss of a loved one, aside from his dog and Aunt Corrina (after which he was more worried about stuffing his maw with fucking pancakes)... But after losing his dad, he should really get that death has a horrible impact on those left behind, especially when it comes unexpectedly, and ESPECIALLY when it's caused by someone else's malevolence. Granted Bob's death was fairly obvious given the state of his health, but Chris was seemingly oblivious to the possibility that Bob might actually die, so to him, it probably had the same emotional impact that a sudden death would have on someone who isn't Chris.

But of course, he's a thoughtless fat autist who, despite using his new big boy word "empathy", has none, and has no capacity to understand what it even means, let alone experience what empathy is. I'd feel pity for him, but he deserves none, and can't comprehend what it is like to feel pity for others or understand the pain that they are feeling, because other people are emotionless automata to Chris. I'll reserve my sympathy for those who don't act like horrible, thoughtless, entitled shitheads thank you much.

I think he understands it, but he sees no problem wishing it upon other people because it doesn't inconvenience him in any way if they suffer. In fact, if he doesn't like them, he enjoys the thought of them suffering in some way, because he's just a nice guy like that, as evidenced by the whole "wishing someone would kill Mimms' girlfriend" thing.

I think the general thing that should be kept in mind with these kinda things is that Chris is rather selfish. If he's not at the receiving end of the suffering, it doesn't matter that much. However he shouldn't ever need to suffer or face minor inconveniences in his mind. At least that's what I've been getting out of the FB leak. He's got kind of a screwed up view placing himself square in the middle. To him, he matters. People that he dislikes do not, and people that he doesn't know don't either, so he has no moral objections to wishing that innocent people die if it means that someone he doesn't like suffers.

My apologies if I come off as a-loggy here, but that's kind of what I got from the way he behaved in the FB leak.

But.. he gave a moment of silence when driving by that dead girl's memorial so he could tell everyone on facebook about it. He's a saint. Not like those dirty evil trolls who only took down the CWCki for a few measely days after Bob passed and mocked Chris with messages of sympathy!
