Does he have any friends besides Barb and Rocky? I can't imagine many people trying to walk up and talk to him based on the last few pictures he posted. How hard would it be to have someone like him as a friend? I don't really see him as the type who would be interested in the goings on in anyone else's life.

He had his "gal-pals" in high school, but they weren't really his friends at all. They just pitied him and were nice to him as a result. But Chris thinks they were the best friends he could ever have.

Right now? Probably not, I don't think Anna really counts, since she's just using Chris for attention. By the sounds of it, the people at his church don't really like him much either. So he seems pretty alone and friend, was to me.

Eh, I don't know if I'd say they weren't his friends. They went to his birthday party, for example.

But anyway, Chris hasn't really kept up with many of his friends. He's down to about one or so. Also he's pissed off a few of them, so they're no longer friends.

He used to have friends but alienated them with his bad behavior. That, or they associated with him out of pity and went on to bigger and better things.

Seriously, he'll treat girls like Meagan and the Wallflower (i.e. like sex objects) and guys are JERKS that he doesn't want to have anything to do with them. It's no wonder he's friendless.

TBH I think the friendship (tug) boat sailed off and left him a long time ago. I'm 34 and I can't really imagine having any new BFFs. I reckon my social circle will be with me until I'm gone.

Sadly Chris never learned at a young age (like most of us do) that most friendships are born out of mutual interests in things. When I was in school I always had friends that shared my interests and I still do. I can't work out how Chris managed to go through high school and not find any fellow vidya addicts. I was a total vidya addict in high school and I had a fairly decent sized social circle of like minded vidya addicts.

It depends on what your definition of friend is. There are probably people at his church in the rough vicinity of his age who tolerate his presence at various functions out of a sense of religious duty. Chris probably has to sort of take what he can get in terms of what qualifies as friendship. Even most of the people he has all these fond memories of in high school probably only associated with him out of pity or being forced to by some authority figure.

And, really, is Chris capable of being a friend? Even if someone wanted to genuinely engage with him out of mutual interest and respect instead of just pity could he ever reciprocate the smallest amount of friendship? I really can't see him ever forging that strong of a social bond to someone he didn't physically emerge from.

He alienated some of them, yeah, but not all of them.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but there's a big difference between what Chris says and what Chris does. He complains about guys being jerks, but in practice, he's fine with them. He's had quite a few male friends before.

Point taken about there being a big difference between what Chris says and what he does. Yeah, I remember you saying that now. Sorry to make you repeat that.

If a guy could get CWC something he wants (like free china), sure, he'd be the guy's friend. He'd only dislike the guy if he was dating a girl he likes.

I doubt CWC could have a relationship that wouldn't be lopsided in his favor.

This is obviously in the category of stuff you can't talk about, but who in Chris's circle isn't a troll in the first place? I mean, these aren't people who judge Chris by the same standard a real friend would judge him.

They may have considered him to be a casual friend, but they obviously didn't perceive an emotional connection to him on the same level as he did to them.

I had friends in high school, and in previous jobs I've worked at, who I was on great terms with but once I left that environment, I just didn't bother to keep up with them because they didn't matter that much. The best that happens is maybe I'll friend them on facebook, and then I'll see occasional updates about their lives, until I decide to block updates from them because I'm tired of getting farmville requests from them. I imagine that's how his gal-pals perceived him - they legitimately liked him a bit, but he didn't actually matter to their lives at any core level, so once high school stopped bringing them together, they stopped caring about him, because college or whatever next step in their lives they had brought new casual friends they could hang out with.

Well, actually, Chris might be able to be better friends with men than women. He's not trying to pursue the men, sexually. But yeah, he's had legitimate male friends that he wasn't trying to get something from. He had some that he was trying to get something from too.

Well, there were a few. But yeah, they'd have different perspectives on Chris than trolls would.

I wonder what Barb bribed them with to come to what was to all intents and purposes a kids birthday party...

They just want to leave:

I agree he'd probably be better friends with women than men. That seemed to be the case in high school, and that was probably the high point of his life.

I checked the CWCki, and yes, there are guys whom he was at least acquaintances with (I doubt they were really close friends, though) who he didn't try to exploit. In fact, Martinez tried to exploit him.

2 quick questions, Marvin, if you don't mind: Does CWC still hang out with anyone he knew from earlier in life, like in high school, or have they all moved on and forgotten about him? And a weirder question: does CWC have anything against Hispanics, since Martinez tried to cheat him?

They didn't really seem to include him in their lives that much, though. I mean, not that there are no pictures of him at any of their parties, athletic events, houses, etc. Moreover, even though they're all on Facebook, I'm not even sure they're listed as his friends! They obviously held no ill will towards him (as far as we can tell), but it doesn't seem like the relationship extended beyond 'friendly acquaintance'

I still remember the first 18th I was invited to. Es, speed, booze at the night club where it was held, then afterwards to someone's house for joints and more booze. Twas a good night.

No, I said he was better friends with men than women. He'd be friends with girls (well, after his love quest started, anyway) because he's trying to fuck them. He'd be a lot better friends with the males because there aren't any inherent ulterior motives like he has with girls.

And no, he had legitimate male friends. And I'd say that Joshua Martinez was his friend at first, but he messed with Chris a lot. He kinda became a troll. He found Chris amusing to mess with.

I don't think he spends too much time with anyone but Barb, his pets and church people. He doesn't have any problem against hispanics. In fact, he really loves his claimed ability to speak spanish.

Eh, I'd agree with that if their only time with Chris was spending time with him at lunch. Calling someone a friend doesn't need to have a big threshhold. If they got off their asses and went to his party, I think that's good enough to call them friends.

Whoops, I messed up. I don't know why I thought you said he'd be better friends with women rather than men.

Thanks for answering my questions and for being patient with me, Marvin. I'll leave you alone now. And yeah, we all know how well he speaks Spanish

He really does suck at smiling...

If you are at a party of someone of the opposite sex it's the done thing to give them a kiss as you wish them happy birthday. I wonder if he got any birthday kisses from anyone other than Barb?
