Very Honest Content said:I've theorized, with no proof at all of course (thus the theory part of the statement) that Chris picked up these bisexual to gay tendencies (Mary Poppins being his favorite movie, love of female targeted cartoons like My Little Pony, his affinity for females in general and the adoption of Tomgirlism along with the topics discussed in this thread amongst other things) from his own father. Bob was a Texas born, Alabama educated military guy. But he lost his virginity reportedly at a pretty mature age, listened to jazz, enjoyed gardening, swinging on a swing in his lawn, slept in a different bed than his second wife for years, basically dated, for all intents and purposes, a Korean pastor in his later days for breakfast at Burger King regularly, and in general was the opposite of what a man from his era raised in the deep south and educated in a segregationist part of the country would usually be stereotyped as if he was purely heterosexual. Taken individually a lot of these things don't raise an eyebrow, but add them all together and the amount of sugar in Bob's tank starts to seem very less salty and much more sweet to me.

IE: he's lazy as fuck and thinks being a girl is a one way ticket to happiness with no effort, just sit back and let the guy do all work.
He's a sexist fuck.

Yeah, but I don't think he is.Holdek said:Marvin said:See, I don't think that's possible. Chris is very strongly disgusted by men, so I don't think it's possible for him to be homosexual or bisexual.Very Honest Content said:He's a bisexual who is attracted to traditional femininity.
It is if he's suppressing his homosexuality. He's ashamed of himself.

Maybe not? Going back to Chris's (theoretical) ideas of gender: if he really does hold really rigid ideas about what girls do/what boys do, it's possible to see him evaluating his own likes and interests and thinking: "Crap. I like things that only GIRLS are supposed to like! But I like girls too! But if I like things that only girls like, that means I must be...a girl? Wait, that doesn't work. Hm. I'm certainly not gay. I must be...a TOMGIRL!"
Instead of considering that the ideas of gender roles he was raised with might be overly restrictive, he simply invents a new category for himself within those restrictions. Confusion/hilarity ensues.

Kosher Dill said:Chris made up "tomgirl" himself, by analogy with "tomboy". (which is what he considered his favorite high school/childhood gal-pals) It doesn't have any meaning outside CWCville.
