Chris and his current view of God -

Long, long ago, back during a simpler, happier [for some] time, Chris used to be a big follower of God. Chris may not have understood what he was or what he stood for, but he certainly liked to let people know he was a believer...

And yet, nowadays, after a number of traumatizing years, Chris finally gave up on God. Never did I expect to see such a thing happen in Chris's life.

I remember a long time ago making a topic about Chris and God, and how I felt that at some point, he might just give up on him due to how God constantly failed to keep his "Promises". I think quite a few people in that topic said that he wouldn't abandon God so easily, despite all that happened.. And now, a year or so later, what was once just a thought became a reality. It baffles me.

I wonder how everyone else felt about Chris's abandonment of God? When I first heard of it, it was quite a fascinating discovery... But at the same time, I kinda felt that it was bound to happen. When you spent most of your life thinking that God was going to give you a wonderful life on a silver platter, only to get a pile to shit on a pile of shit, you are bound to turn into a very bitter person who would soon lose faith in the man in the sky.

Did anyone else think this was bound to happen at some point? Or were they as surprised as I was?

Chris's basic understanding of God is that God is some nebulous being that is only there to give you presents. And is someone to blame when things don't go your way.

Chris has the "cosmic genie" approach to understanding God, and since God hasn't given him his Aryan supermodel sweetheart or his basically promised illustrious metal daughter, or even a crummy office job, Chris assumes God is a troll and should be cursed and abused with the other trolls.

It's also how he thinks his own thinking has weight, and how he believes God has a special interest in his life. Like how he threatened on Jason Kendrick Howell's voicemail "I'LL PRAY YOU DEAD".

Chris believes he is a good person, therefore God should reward him. It's like a version of Karma to Chris, but it will never occur to CWC that he may need to change his behavior to get his happy ending. It's God's fault Chris's life is shit because God is not holding up his end of the deal. It's like that scene in American Dad, "God: Stan, you're holding a gun to God's head. I mean, I can't even think of a metaphor that's better than this, and I'm a published poet."

I don't really believe Chris has abandoned God per se. Even some of the most die hard Christians get angry at God occasionally. I'm pretty sure theres at least one Biblical figure whos been mad at God. Sure, Chris says he curses God for giving him this life and all that other melodrama but we must never forget that Chris has the mind of a child. A stupid child at that. I look at his calling God a troll and what not in the same way I'd look at a kid telling a parent "I hate you" because they didn't get something they wanted or whatever. Yeah, hes saying all this but I bet you he still prays that God will smite the twolls for him.
