Sawyer only worked on New Vegas. He had nothing to do with 1 or 2.
Wait, you're right. How did I tard that hard? He worked on Icewind Dale with Avellone, not Fallout. Guess I just translated his immense care for the setting into founding member. My bad. I still miss Fargo's touch for the series, but I guess he got Wasteland back, so he's happy.
The confusion probably set in because Sawyer did work as lead designer on Fallout van Buren before he left Black Isle.
Fallout 2 is my personal favorite of the series.

Its becoming apparent Avellone isn't, since he's unwilling to push for anything controversial and will cuck out and stick his neck out for the guillotine when you voice disapproval.
Who knows, all the studios saying that they removed Avellone's work for their games is really troubling, gives the feeling that he's persona non-grata.
I swear to god if Night Dive Studios delays the System Shock remake even FURTHER because they have to remove Avellone's writing I'll lose my shit.

I don't think Avellone has anything to do with the current iteration of the System Shock remake. Originally it was meant to be an expanded re-imagining but after years of working on it they had nothing to show for it and so it was switched to a straight remake.
For Dying Light 2, recently exposed (though officially denied) behind-the-scenes drama suggested that they had already nixed a lot of Chris Avellone's work on it before all this dumb shit happened.

I barely remember anything about Lonesome Road, I remember those other two and Honest Hearts way better.
I remember it being a scavenger hunt to find holotapes full of whiny bullshit. Very disappointing after the previous DLCs being pretty awesome.
And I don't remember anything that was said on those holotapes.
Sawyer didn't work on Fallout 1 or 2. The first game he had any hand in was New Vegas. I'm being harsh towards Avellone, but he is an important part of the series. Yeah, he didn't found the series or work on the first game, but a lot of the core series lore came from 2 and the Bible.

Enclave are straight up the most evil faction in the first two games. They're xenophobic, genocidal, and have absolutely no desire to bargain with anyone on the mainland. And 2 is definitely not overrated. Ignore the pop culture bullshit and it has great weapon variety, quests, and side characters.
So? Let me have a villian ending like Fallout 1.
