Your Guide to the Chris Forums
If you're new here, or if you're wondering why your post was deleted or redacted, these are the general guidelines we use to moderate the Chris forum.
All trolling discussion will be deleted.
It's as simple as that. Threads where you discuss trolling plans or anything else intended to bother Chris are disallowed. Contrary to certain rumors, this rule isn't here to protect some so-called "super sekrit inner circle". There are two very important reasons why this is disallowed.
One, most people who discover Chris almost immediately want to troll him as soon as they find him; everyone thinks they got the best idea ever to upset him. This forum does not need a deluge of threads asking people how funny it would be if you mailed him diapers or if you screamed JULAAAY on his answering machine. The vast majority of trolling plans I read about are complete dogshit and their presence only junks up the forum.
Even if your bit is genuinely good (and it probably isn't), it's still not allowed here. The CWCki Forums is in the business of observation and discussion. That's it. We do not nor can we condone any active interference into Chris' life, and we're not, in any way, going to facilitate your plans to bother him.
This is also neglecting the fact that it is going to be very difficult for you to even tell him "Hello." Chris has grown very paranoid of trolls and he's learned not to respond to anyone, not even white knights. His e-mail account blackholes any messages from people not on his contacts, his public AIM and Skype are either similarly restricted or closed, and he will not respond to your Facebook friend request or message. If you really feel the burning need to find any possible way to intrude into the life of a Virginia welfare recipient, I suggest you find more constructive things to do with your time.
Don't "A-Log".
A-Logging is defined as any post designed to outright insult Chris or blow his shortcomings completely out of proportion; it's named for Anthony "A-Log" Logatto, who makes an ass out of himself comparing Chris to genuinely terrible dictators like Hitler or Sadaam Hussein. A-Log is now being trolled himself because of this. You sound like an idiot when you do it, so if you do it, we're going to do you a favor as well as the rest of us and delete it.
Chris simply acts weird. He doesn't invade countries and torture citizens. You can still criticize him, just keep it proportionate, and don't simply insult him. Plain old A-Logging will simply be deleted; if you outright threaten Chris, you'll also be banned.
Don't make new "Why isn't Chris into X" threads.
Because of the overwhelming volume of these kinds of threads, there's now a single thread where all this kind of discussion can go. If you start a new one of these threads, it will be merged into this one.
Don't make threads speculating on Chris' bodily functions.
These threads end up extremely gross and don't further any constructive dialogue. If you make a post like this, it will be promptly moved to Spergatory so everyone can laugh at you.
Don't speculate on Chris' accounts here.
Don't accuse particular users of being Chris. If you make a post accusing someone of being Chris, we'll have to edit it and redact the username. This will be done for any username whether or not it is Chris, so don't think your quick pre-edit glance was the real Chris. Not only does this tie into our rule against trolling plans, but also you can be wrong, and we don't need innocent users being scared off by flood of JULAY PMs.
Don't be spergy.
Last one, and for some reason, the most important that bears mentioning. You're on a forum where we highlight the goofy behavior of Chris. It should go without saying that there is a certain irony in you yourself acting like an idiot when you post here, but this irony has gone lost on faaaaar too many people. Therefore, before you make a post here, simply ask yourself if your post sounds reasonable. That's really all you need to do. Trust me when I say that, if you're banned for this reason, then it's really for your own good. Really. Just take my word for it.
Post as if Chris doesn't read your posts.
Yes, Chris occasionally lurks on the board, but that doesn't warrant trying to talk to him directly. A lot of people will take time to write an aside trying to speak directly towards Chris. He doesn't read these. Even if he did read your post, he wouldn't digest it, he wouldn't comprehend it, he wouldn't care. Nothing you say to him [cwc=Frequently_Asked_Questions#Contact_Chris]will ever matter[/cwc]. Perhaps even more frustrating are posts that decide to be passive-aggressive about talking to Chris in such a way that is obvious to a normal reader. These posts are bizarre and fruitless, annoying and futile. You will not affect or influence Chris in any way from this forum: stop trying.
Together with the global rules, everything else goes. So have fun and enjoy yourself.
