Are Chris' most noted exploits (Attraction Sign/Love Quest, poorly drawn webcomic, wars with trolls, the "autism card" etc) really that one-of-a-kind? Because before I heard about Chris I never heard of such things.

his small individual traits are really not too unique, but when they all roll into the mess that is chris chan, he is truly one of a kind.

I don't think the autism card is that unique. I'd heard of people playing it (and being ridiculed for doing so) long before I ever heard of Chris.

Chris shares a lot of his other traits in common with other internet lolcows - in particular he's very similar to David Gonterman, another Sonic fanboy who drew shitty comics and was a popular target for trolling because of his OTT reactions to criticism - but I think the fact that he combines so many all at once is what holds people's interest.

Half of it is the incredible concentration of so many differing facets of fail, the other half is the way he spent years shamelessly whoring himself out on the internet. There is literally nothing we don't know about him (maybe not these days)

People have so much ammo to use on Chris because he's provided so much ammo.

I don't know. I feel their are plenty of weirdos (if you look through a place like ED) that seem to have the asperbergers or something, and like to dick around with Sonic recolors. Most of them are totally into video games too. Most of them aren't as naive as CWC. Also, most of the time they make up their mental illness for attention. Chris might've been normal at one point, but was cuddled into autism.

Eh, I guess what sets Chris apart is his stupidity and gullibility. Other spergs might've gotten coerced into one CWC-like saga, not four or five like Chris has.

And I don't know, I wouldn't say Chris was ever normal, considering how it took him a few years to speak and things like that. He was definitely diagnosed by a doctor with an autism disorder.

From what I have found, people with autism tend to be a little "unique" whether they like it or not. Keep in mind one of the traits of autism is not being able to tell social norms or how not to look like a doofus. So because of this, they tend to end up rather different from the social norms.

Is there any other lolcow that does something similar to Chris wearing a Sonichu medallion everywhere?

What makes Chris particularly unique/infuriating is that he's managed to slip through so many cracks and flaws in our social/economic/political systems. He's managed to twist everything that would've benefited him into an insensate evil (such as Greene County's insistence on special education); soak up money for a relatively minor ailment with impunity; take advantage of our reluctance to lay it on the mentally handicapped; et cetera et cetera.

Agreed, it's the sheer improbability of all of these factors consecutively failing to prevent a Christian Weston Chandler that makes him fascinating/disturbing. However, I suspect such failure isn't entirely unique. What makes it his case stand out, is the unprecedented publicity of it all. A perfect storm of failure occurred, and it conveniently happened where all the world could witness it.

However, I think this may become less and less unique, in our increasingly networked world.
