This. Chris is not disjointed from reality in the same way someone with schizophrenia/multiple personality disorder is. It's mainly because he has the mind of a young child, and it's possible his autism could be a contributing factor as well.trombonista said:I don't think he views them as real as much as he wishes they were real. I don't think that he can physically see them or hear them. But I think he likes to think that fictional characters real in some way. He imagines them.BigAltheGreat921 said:This. ...we will make Sonichu and Rosechu and their world being more Real than I was able to make them by myself with pen and markers in hand, and a vasly-knowledgeable imagination.
Real-Life, I have crafted the Original Sonichu Medallion from Crayola Model Magic Clay, Acrylic Paints, Keyrings, Super-Glue and Necklace, and it does not grant me any powers.

I imagine when he "talks" to these characters he's imagining what they would say, and then attributing that thought to the imaginary character. He probably actually thinks Sonichu is communicating with him.

but yet he believes that alec's characters are not true to what he drew. he thinks they are just actors forced to live out alec's "demented" whims.

Google otherkin before you tell me that this idea is too crazy even for Chris. There are people out there with jobs who actually believe they're the astral-girlfriend of Sepheroth. Which is crazy, because I'm the astral-girlfriend of Sepheroth.

I wouldn't say otherkin/soulbonders are less mentally damaged than Chris. There's definitely some mental illness going on there; some of them just manage to not be quite as fucked over in terms of social functioning as Chris is.
As for whether or not Chris legitimately believes CWCville, Sonichu et. al. are really real...these days, who knows. I think in certain ways he's aware that they don't exist outside his imagination, but he doesn't want to fully acknowledge this; he really, really wants for there to be a place where he's a superpowered warrior who heroically overcomes all obstacles and vanquishes dang dirty trolls. Since he's become so depressed and paranoid lately, however, it's become increasingly difficult for him to retreat fully into his self-indulgent fantasy world, something he blames on the trolls. I think that at some point in the past couple of years, something - the death of his father, the endless parade of fake girlfriends, the constant frustration and social isolation - finally convinced him, on a very deep, basic level, that his Sonic recolors and the world they inhabit aren't real. There is no parallel universe where he can be a hero and hang out with pokemon and win a hot, supportive girlfriend/surrogate mommy. This world is all he's got, and it's full of trolls, a demanding mother, and a house crammed with Goodwill refuse. No wonder he's depressed.

Wait... why does he need a portal, if the city is in Virginia? Couldn't he just drive there?
