I think that Chris is really more of a case study on the maladaptive ways the various retards and outcasts in our society cope with problems. Self-Infantilizarion (watching my little pony and other cartoons well into adulthood); trooning out (maladaptive sexual frustration and being groomed by online communities); porn-inspired concepts of love; internet-fuelled narcissism; etc.

I think Chris' tism leads him to imitate everything he sees and to be easily influenced by others; and his other negative personality traits lead him to having no friends and living his life mostly through the internet. So putting the two together, he simply aggregates the worst habits of the worst examples of our society.

Or maybe he really is a trendsetter and soon everyone will be claiming they're Jesus and fucking their mother.

It won't be some grand comedic thing like he was a great religious or political figure or something, no it will be like an obscure oddity of history that only university students or hobbyists know about like the Borborites or the letters from the Kingdom of Ugarit during the Sea People's invasions.

They will talk about what he thought of the events of his day, what silly notions he believed in and what his story was. They will consider us fortunate to have the privilege of watching and reading about the Sing Star challenge in its entirety (As only the initial challenge video and Round 4 survived) and there will be papers written discussing who actually was the real Chris, was Kacey originally Solid Chris' girlfriend that Liquid stole instead? Did Chris really fight Clyde Cash? What are the connections between Vanessa Hudgens and Chris-Chan?

It sounds autistic but it's possible, read enough coveted letters from the ancient world and up through the ages and you get letters that sound like they come from 4chan.

A few years ago I read a Charles Stross novel, I forgot the name, where in the distant future, due to the current era's habit of storing most of our records on relatively volatile digital storage media, most information about the 1950s to 2000s is simply gone and these super-scifi transhumanist societies basically have a better idea about ancient Egypt than us, and thus start a social experiment to recreate our world. There were some Chris-chan types there. Also, Charles Stross is a great author.

A few years ago I read a Charles Stross novel, I forgot the name, where in the distant future, due to the current era's habit of storing most of our records on relatively volatile digital storage media, most information about the 1950s to 2000s is simply gone and these super-scifi transhumanist societies basically have a better idea about ancient Egypt than us, and thus start a social experiment to recreate our world. There were some Chris-chan types there. Also, Charles Stross is a great author.

Sounds it, I'm really intrested in the idea of us losing a large portion of history or knowledge in general because something happens to the internet (or a system like it) and we have digitised so much of that knowledge it becomes a second dark age.

I've been wanting to read the Remembrance of Earth's Past Trilogy by Cixin also, but the Dark Forest Theory fills me with existential dread already without a novelization, so I'm not sure I can handle it. Take the example of Chris, and then think of what would happen if there was another Carrington event, it wouldnt just be the relatively minor Christory lost it would be a lot of human knowledge that's lost and nobody really seems to understand just how fucked we would be if that happens to all human knowledge or atleast modern human technical knowledge we are pumping more and more information out in digital only forms and it only takes one event for it to be lost for ever.
