What he apparently wants is some generic feel-good talk that speaks to whatever's on his mind at the moment, and nothing more.
Chris is different because of his passive approach to it. Like, yeah, there are plenty of Americans who go to content-free "Christian" services, or follow the "Oprah's Book Club/The Secret" religion, but they're generally operating on a slightly higher level. In addition to the "genie" aspect, most people in feel-good religions get some social satisfaction out of it - a feeling of self-righteousness, of community, of having a direction in life, etc. With Chris, it's purely about getting some asspats for whatever's stressing him at the moment.GrandNumberOfPounds said:Really, that describes a lot of Americans and their view towards religion. Why would Chris be any different?
To really educate him? Well... do you believe in reincarnation? Because I don't think he can still be properly educated, not in this life at least. That ship has sailed...Big Boss said:What would it take to educate Chris about Judaism, Islam, Wicca, Buddhism, etc?
Was. Now that a decade has passed without a single wish truly fulfilled, Chris has realized that God is a troll.CatParty said:He does not understand religion or spirituality. God to him is a wish granting genie.
Because his friends (read: asspatters) from the church who are his only friends on Facebook would abandon him if he made a big deal out of it in a status.Alec Benson Leary said:Was. Now that a decade has passed without a single wish truly fulfilled, Chris has realized that God is a troll.
Which makes me wonder why Chris hasn't fingered God as the culprit behind the facebook leak? God has omniscience, surely he can see beyond privacy settings.
If God is a troll, than He would be the master troll, setting the trolling plans in motion before Chris was even born. Getting to the topic, Chris has no understanding of any religion whether it was his own or some other religion. The only information he gets would be from tv shows that parody or flat out mock beliefs such as Family Guy for Christianity or South Park for Scientology. Aside from thinking God as a genie, Chris pretty much only gets very little understanding of his beliefs like those who claim to know much of their own religion despite knowing little.Alec Benson Leary said:Was.
