Forgive me if this is something that has come up before. But how much do you all think that OPL's idiotic purchases on PSN are related to Barb's compulsive hoarding. Is it a behavior that he inherited by nature, nurture, or is he simply that deluded(don't answer that last one). Also, how do you buy Journey and not play it? That game is great.

Chris has never been one to actually put a lot of thought ahead of time. He seems to do things more in the moment.

OPL also lacks any sense of being responsible with his money. No budgeting, no saving up, etc. If he sees something he wants, he wants it NOW NOW NOW and gets it regardless of whether or not it puts him deeper into the hole. Keep in mind that Chris is mentally like a child. It doesn't matter if he'll ever actually play it; all that matters is that it's something new, he doesn't have it, and he wants it. I'd say it's less compulsive hoarder and more impulsive buyer.

He has the brain of a retarded child and he gets free money every month. What else would he do but buy garbage?

At least his hoard doesn't take up physical space. That's...uhm...an improvement, right?

And yet he played the hell out of Duke Nukem Forever...

I will give Chris a pass on this... slightly. As a gamer myself, I know how easy it is to just want to constantly build a backlog of games with the inclination of playing them all, but ending with a massive backlog of games to play. I myself have about 30-40 HEWBAWX games I still haven't fully completed (as in, at least do a single playthrough). I know this is somewhat commonplace for a lot of other gamers.

However, what I will not give Chris a pass for is the fact that looking at his PSN profile, he's just buying games and not even playing them. And not just a few, but according to my rough math, he's only completed (again, at least one playthrough) less than 14% of the games he owns on his PSN account alone. Over 40% of his collection (again, according to his PSN account) he hasn't even played yet at all. That is just... I dunno. It isn't hoarding, but it is certainly impulse buying.

I know lots of people who buy massive libraries of games off of Steam not because they immediately want to play them but because the deals are too good to pass up.

I think that answers it.

No surprise there.

Yeah, he has a weird liking for terrible flops and knockoff trash, American Rabbit, that one Ghost Busters show, BOLDY SPICY McDonalds Chicken Wings, to name a few. I guess its from Barb raising him on Dollar Store toys and bargain bin movies his whole life.

Had he been older in 1983 he probably would have bugged the hell out of people at the video store (since the internet didn't exist) about how E.T. for Atari was a revolutionary game and that all games should follow in its footsteps.

It helps that there are boobs in Duke Nukem.

That sure as hell isn't the case with PSN. Truly good deals are few and far between, even with PS+. You'll almost never see sales equivalent to Steam's.

Really, it's just a total lack of impulse control, combined with a guaranteed source of no-strings cash. It's the same reason he's pissed away untold hundreds of dollars on his fake iPhone Springfield, or expects people to spend $1000 on a couple dozen used porn DVD's: he's a moron with no appreciation whatsoever for the value of money because he never has and never will have to earn it.

Also, keep in mind that he claims that he does indeed play every single video game he has at least once a month.

With Bayonetta 2 coming for the Wii U, I'm sure he will include that to his digital library!

If he doesn't, I'll be surprised.

Don't forget that Bayonetta is one smoking hot lady. I'm sure OPL would be more than willing to own a copy of her.

Very, very true. That's practically a guarantee he'll want to get his grubby hands on it.

Don't forget he tried to sell an old TV for hundreds of dollars. And thought that his used toys were worth the price of the same toys still in their original packaging.

Also noteworthy is the fact that his PSN spending went up significantly after being permabanned from the GAMe PLACe. Evidently his impulse purchases aren't limited to DLC and digital games: he just preferred to piss it away on Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh cards before losing that outlet.

Boobs that you slap.
The psychopathology of that is disturbing.
One wonders how long Chris sat slapping dem bewbs.....did he do it once, then chuckle and then move on (like most of the doofs who played that game)....or did he obsessively sit there slapping dem bewbs like he was gettin off on it?

...and was he snarling "Take DAT Megan!" over and over and over again the whole time?
