I think I've said it before, but the John Kyle video gives me prime reason to revisit the subject: Chris has absolutely no respect for Cole. Barb told him that she never did anything bad to Cole, therefore Chris assumes she's right and he's wrong. Chris further assumes that people have been "lying" to Cole about Barb, because that fits in with the Chandlers' persecution complex so well. Chris gives no consideration whatsoever to the fact that Cole spent 18 years in Barb's house - he has 18 years of experience off which to form his own opinion, he doesn't need anyone else to say anything about her.

I also love that everybody in the extended family hates them "since Corina died". That tells me that by being their usual bellicose, self-absorbed selves, they picked some kind of fight or caused some kind of scene for no good reason at Corina's funeral that was big enough for everyone to write them off.

First thing I saw in the first link was the grease stain.

Never change, good sir.

Wasn't that the whole "no pancakes" kerfluffle?

Oh yeah, definitely what Alec said.

Chris whiteknighting Barb and talking shit about Coleslaw is my new favorite thing.
That was the most annoying thing to me that Chris did in that video. I mean, I guess I know Chris doesn't know any better to reasonably evaluate the situation, but still, he takes Barb's story at face value and just assumes she's correct.

Though most of the cwcki forums do the exact opposite thing and take Cole's story at face value. Really, there are at least three options: that Cole is correct about who his real father is, that Barb is actually correct and Cole's just cranky at Barb, and that Barb just doesn't know herself because she was a trashy, redneck whore back in her youth. And I think they're all equally possible, based on the available information.

Truly an exceptional Christian Love Day present. Thanks, Marv.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, I think these are the highest quality videos we've ever seen of Chris.... and waitaminute, who was he sending the dance video to? Was there another prospective heartsweet after Jackie?

Once again, something else he can try to pin of the trolls for things not working out exactly the way he'd want.

Also something of note in that video, the whole Chandler clan hates Chris and Barb now? I mean, it's not THAT surprising I suppose, but it's not usually brought up into discussion.

I wonder how deep his understanding (or lack thereof) of Cole's situation is. Like, I can't picture Barb sitting down and having real talk with Chris about her past indiscretions with various men that led to Cole's conception; I find it more likely that Chris' information on Cole is picked more from Barb going off about how Cole doesn't care about her, how she wasn't invited to the wedding, etc.
Also, did Chris imply that Cole was at the family reunion or whatever?

I've always had the impression that the Weston half is more indifferent and loosely connected than anything. It's the residents at 14 Branchland, though, so anything that doesn't immediately count as overflowing true and honest love and support equals hate.

Is chris's verbal skills regressing or is it just my perception of it? Thanks for the link marvin/alec . Ever since the guy stopped making daily videos. His verbal skills have gone down the drain with this new isolation.

Thanks, Marv!

I also wonder what exactly happened at Corrina's funeral. Do you think the Weston's shunned them because Chris was a bit too open about it being his birthday and how he wished he could eat pancakes? It's sad that Barbra and Chris have officially been neglected by their entire family, considering how much help they need now,but they did bring it on themselves.
I don't blame Cole for not inviting them to the wedding, but poor John Kyle didn't deserve to be on the receiving end of an uppity adult autistic child's indignant huffing over family drama.

Did anyone else feel a tinge of sadness at seeing Bob's license plate mounted on the wall like a memorial?

Seconding this. I'm restricted to my iPad due to issues with the school's wifi atm and iPad seems to hate Mediafire. :(

I always imagined that Chris was originally going to keep that shirt pristine and wear it to the reunion. When that dint happen he just gave up and began wearing it.

I'm not sure, I think they were doing something else. The pancakes deal I always figured was just griping Chris did later, and we latched onto it because it was an example of him not caring about his aunt. But then again, maybe Chris was railing about it during the actual funeral, too.

I wouldn't go that far. Some do, sure, but a lot of people here recognize that Cole isn't the healthiest specimen. Of course, it's easy to assume there's at least some foundation to his tales, given how much we know about the appalling way she treats Chris.
