I would be completely unsurprised if all her life stories were embellished. I just feel like a dumbass for always eating her stories up with a fork and a spoon. For example, her father died in early 2016, and everything she tweeted about their final goodbye (apparently she was late, and he couldn't talk and shoved a note that said "sorry" into her hand) was so theatrical.

It wasn't really the lorax fandom, it was the onceler fandom. It's not that hard to understand, Onceler was a bishie and a lot of fangirls' type at the time. But the selfcest shipping and endless ask blogs of his variations such as walmartcashier!oncie (not joking, actually saw this) on the other hand.... Tumblr at that time had a weird tendency to latch onto a single male character in a fandom (who tended to be crazy) and be completely obsessed with him. Such as Gamzee, Komaeda, etc... It might still be going on now, but I left years ago, thank god, so IDK.

With how frequently she lies, it could have been false, but I remember her saying something around the 20,000+ range. From my understanding people either followed her for the fetishes, art, or the horror show. Could have been a lot of porn bots though with the NSFW keywords in her posts. Honestly at this point who fucking knows with her?

the anti-porn stuff is actually fairly recent, at least within the past 2 years. all the nasty stuff was before she quit tumblr in 2015. that was about when she was diagnosed with a sex/porn addiction and went full anti-porn.

@BastardLegs i'm really curious if you have more deets on her childhood and life before she turned into the puke loon she is today. i'm not surprised her dad was a creep - i recall in the tumblr days she went to visit her sister and her dad was making creepy comments on her sister's 12 year old daughter the entire time. she also said that her mom was just as weird as her.

Nemu's parents being super tall is definitely a more recent lie...when I was in her inner circle from 2014-2016, she never brought up anything of the sort. The most she mentioned was how she has huge feet, a women's size 10. She seemed pretty genuine about that, and complained about how hard it was to shop for cute shoes in that size.

@Meowzers I've been trying to recall the rest of her homelife stories...she was always eager to share very personal stories, but most of it was pretty nasty and I buried it in the back of my head. There was a lot of neglect in her household, and kid Nemu would be left home alone to play Smash Bros Melee for hours on end. This was how she became fixated on the Ice Climbers, and assumed they were an adult couple, who she then liked to pretend were her adoptive parents. I can believe the neglect; her compulsive lying and relishing in online attention are pretty evocative of someone who struggled to get attention from their parents.

Nemu rarely brought up her brother. Someone on Lolcow said he was in the army, but other than that, she wasn't interested in talking about him. Maybe it was just because her sister was around more, and there was more to tell us about her.

She also took pride early on in being disgusting, probably since it got her attention. She once bragged to us about how, when she was 7 or 8, she ripped a fart on the school bus during a field trip that was so bad, they had to empty the bus and air it out. It's hard to describe without whipping out my power level, but basically, I got into a fight with a mutual friend. That friend then vented it all to Nemu, who then decided I should be ejected from her entire friend network. It turned into a full-on callout and a call for everyone to block me...some of the stuff they made up for the callout was pretty hilarious. (Knowing what we do now, I realize that whenever Nemu tells everyone to block a person, it's not because they're dangerous, it's so that they can't tell their side of the story.) A few people did ask why something this stupidly trivial was being made into a big public production, but I think they later got excommunicated too. Some of her fans also followed me around online for several months to make sure I wasn't shit-talking their supreme leader.

Looking back, I think Nemu was getting super paranoid if one of her friends was a mole. She had been away from Tumblr for a while, but was still insecure over whether or not her "haters" there were keeping tabs on her and farming from afar. Obviously I wasn't doing that back then, but hey, why talk to someone, when you can shoot first and tell your followers that you've saved them all and they should be grateful? (There's no way to describe Nemu's friend circle without it sounding cult-like. Because it was.)
