James narrates the first act of his indefinitely postponed horror movie:
No time to make a movie.James narrates the first act of his indefinitely postponed horror movie:
If he's putting out a video like this then I presume he'll setup a Kickstarter for the project.James narrates the first act of his indefinitely postponed horror movie:
I think he's wary of spending the amount of time and money and mental energy required for another project. He's made schlock like the Polonia's before, but they were short films and deliberately tongue in cheek. My impression is that he wants to make a legit film this time. And I can almost guarantee you that he lost a good chunk of his ass when making the AVGN movie. Sure, he got 325 grand from Indiegogo but how much of that went into the movie after fees and paying for bullshit like T-shirts and autographs? Let's say 300K. Then he made the mistake of shooting in L.A. which is INSANELY expensive and it was a union film because he had SAG actors in it. Then he paid for the premier at Grauman's Chinese Theater in L.A. to host the premier and that alone would cost 50-100K easily. For example, if you want to show something at the IFC theater in Manhattan (pre-COVID) they will only show the film if you spend 40K in advertising. So sick of his "No Time" excuse.
The Polonia Brothers made a huge amount of horror, scifi, and monster movies with no money and they got distribution across the country in video stores. You don't need a million dollar budget. James has no dayjob. Real independent filmmakers do. James has lots of resources that micro budget film makers couldn't dream of. Fans who would send him money, volunteer actors, volunteer special effects, VFX artists ECT.
It's not that James has no time, he has no balls!
I thought I read somewhere (maybe on this thread) that he does do freelance editing and such on other peoples' video as a "day job." Was that just speculation?James has no dayjob.
He's better off sticking to Troma style shock. When people think AVGN they don't think Hollywood filmmaker, they think "Oh the guy who got shat on by bugs bunny"I think he's wary of spending the amount of time and money and mental energy required for another project. TLDR: I guarantee he lost a good chunk of money making the AVGN movie.
sounds a whole lot better than the nerd movie.James narrates the first act of his indefinitely postponed horror movie:
Apparently he already received some help from one of Pennsylvania's most celebrated writer/producers: https://twitter.com/JustySilverman/status/1403094472385347589Cant he write a script get some professional editing. Then be a producer, hire a director.
afaik still unknown, but afaik James' job is just his YT channel which is kinda depressing when you think about it. If anyone can manage to look more into it it'd be appreciated.I thought I read somewhere (maybe on this thread) that he does do freelance editing and such on other peoples' video as a "day job." 5:40, muting the movie and just reading the subtitles because of his wife, etc., you can see it's getting really getting worse and worse. He needs to shut up about his family cause it comes off as passive aggressive

My nerdlore is rusty, but didn't he buy a new house around this time?I think he's wary of spending the amount of time and money and mental energy required for another project. I always wished he could transition from YouTuber to indie film maker. That would have been really nice. While horror is not my cup of tea, it is certainly a genre where you can work with lower budgets and have a dedicated audience.James narrates the first act of his indefinitely postponed horror movie:
