Yea, it's looking like a hot summer for that region. Hamas thought they won but the rebuilding effort has messed up with their cash flow, and the ability to have even a moral victory as every thing is going against their favor. Israel's new elected government has put a mandate that they will give concessions to Hamas, if they let go/prisoner swap of their 4 Israeli hostages. 2 hostages are soldiers who were caught during the 2014 war, and 2 are mentally-ill Israeli's who jumped over the Gazan Border.


The recent timeline:

Qatar promises to send aid to the Gaza Strip, but they can't go over the Egyptian border as Egypt hates Qatar for funding terrorists and the Muslim Brotherhood(#1 enemy to the Egyptian Government). Qatar has to use the Israeli border to send cash over, and they've done this with Netanyahu's permission to calm down the Gaza Strip in the past.

New Israeli Government says that they won't allow straight up cash, but instead the money to be administered through the UN(Allegedly). Hamas gets pissed.

Egypt pledges to spend 500 million dollars in Gaza reconstruction, but that money will go through the Palestinian Authority(Enemies of Hamas and rulers of the West Bank. )

Hamas gets mad at the mediators from Egypt - Egypt acts as a mediator for the Israeli's and Hamas. Egypt tells them not to do the arson balloons and not to start riots on the border. Hamas leaves the mediation and threatens to launch rockets unless they get the Qatar Money in straight up cash, soon.

UN mediators talk to Hamas and Hamas leaves the meeting VERY pissed. I presume Hamas thought it would be like 2014 where a bunch of international money would come in and they could pilfer it for their military applications - they haven't realized that 2021 with a covid pandemic and even the international community knowing they misappropriated aid money, means that donors are going to want to give the money straight to the UN, and not to a BS charity that is a front.
