Sustained Denial of Service attacks. Paid for botnet. Service will continue to be disrupted until I can contact other providers and arrange a fix. Sister services to the forum will have longer downtime. There's still ongoing service-level attacks which are causing intermittent errors and general slowness.
I think you have a right as a creator of something to decide what is and isn't considered canon, especially if you want to use that species for a work later on. But the way these used to be handled was definitely stupid, so it's good to see they recognized that.
This being furry, I am fully expecting they only backpedalled after being made the butt of the joke for closed species by even the furry community.
Nothing changes a furry mind faster than social ostracization after all.

I have a couple of species to chime in that I couldn't find when using the search bar.
Acradors/ Jacktor Imperators.
A species by a German artist named Mindmachine ( https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/mindmachine/ ) which consists of over cyberpunk-miltaristic hellhounds. I've seen these babies easily reach numbers over 500$+ over auction and the leaps to actually get a custom are worse. You have to be a Patreon of his and be in his discord to begin to have a chance to submit a custom form to him and then he has to like your idea to chose you, he is known to push your form off for months to milk someone of more Patreon money and then still may not chose you. If chosen, a front view alone is 500$
He is also extremely hormonal about anyone making a hellhound that resembles his species. His two main characters aren't 'acradors' according to him, they're Jacktor Imperators which minus having an inverted face pattern and a dew claw have no difference to acradors. If someone asks for the white face he gets upset.
He's also been caught ripping off things like 'Love Death and Robots' for his lore.
A smaller time artist/ secondlife texture creature, by the name of Muregon ( https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/muregon/ ) has made their own Japanese styled rip offs (Mind's hellhounds are more European based) and Mind had several members of his flock berate the artist and eventually either grew tired or the rip off artist changed them enough to keep the peace.

A weird elemental, humanized Lion King species made by the artist Pacevanrign ( https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/pacevanrign/ ). This species easily goes easily into the hundreds for a mystery 'pearl' (egg) and her 'pick your poision' and premade go for higher.

Sovern tier (Please note that these are the 400$ reference tiers that do not include the base price of paid for a wilderkin (in total, minimum of 600$ or more depending on the auction)
The artist also has very strict rules on these and if you happen to not like the mystery adopt you basically spent a decent chunk on, you not allowed to resell it nor trade it out with another Wilderkin owner. You have to either keep it or give it back to Pace to raffle off. You also are not allowed to get a reference sheet of them by any artist other than her and the auctions for her reference sheet slots have went close to a grand before.

This is a lot to unpack/ format so forgive me if this post is a mess. I realize after typing this out that this became almost more of a beware on the user vs purely talking about the closed species so if a mod needs to move this feel free.
The artist:
Blood aka thelxlbloodlxlprince ( https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/thelxlbloodlxlprince/ also temporarily made a personal account to showcase his doodles and photos of himself under https://www.furaffinity.net/user/blood~ but he claims he disabled it to keep things more 'art focused')
This guy is a trip all in his own. 'Blood' is a dude originally from Cali or Nevada (he changed his stories a lot) a perverted stoner who spends most of his time 'moving from place to place with his laptop and motercycle.' He claims when he's not couch surfing he is getting high and having 'prophetic dreams' that inspire his adopts. (He's highly into the whole new age stuff with smoke, runes, gems, etc) The dude himself is a fairly 'attractive' looking guy that loves to 'sweet talk' (ie. be overly perverted with all of his fans) that mixed with his art and how people just absolutely fawn over his species/ like to buy them to get closer to Blood. It's an understatement to say this guy isn't just a scammer.
These are the only three photos he's uploaded of himself and they're all old from 2014 and before. I have a feeling these photos may not actually be him with how much they vary minus the striped dyed hair but I could be over analyzing.
He's added so many species/ subspecies since his beginnings but I'm going to mostly be talking about his main two species.
Kit'kians: Kit'kians (originally named kitkins) are humanoid foxes that are supposedly part 'dragon'. Their main trademark is a set of two gems that float on the end of each tail (they are required to have two) and at the tip of each ear. The original three tiers for kitkin's were common, hollow (primarily black and white colour pallets, 'spoopy' look) , draki'kin (More dragonlike in appearence, wings and tails are now eastern dragon like.) he also gave them the ability to shift between forms, formal (humanoid face with 'short fur' all over) informal (muzzled face, longer fur) and feral. He now has 10 additional subspecies for Kitkin's alone and has separated Draki'kins to another subsection all of their own (5+) for pretty much having additional horns, gems, wings, extra tails, different colours, maybe some badass op powers in his lore.
Blood Nagas:
His blood naga are basically naga's with horns that drink blood. His persona/ mascot is one of these, based off of how he looks IRL His own was a higher tier however, that he called 'High Born' and the only difference between them and normal nagas was having scales on their elbows and shoulders. He later changed this into them having scales that went over their body and having more of a 'hollow' look to them and deemed ones with the latter who didn't pay to have theirs reworked as 'Legacy'. He now has 8+ tiers for regions and additions just like the Kitkins.
This artist is also very heavily into snuff and vore and has it cannon in his world that Blood Naga's are known to enslave Kitkin's and either eat/ torture them straight out or bring them back to their palaces, dock their tails (because it's a source of their power?) and use them as sex slaves/ blood bags.
Now, the lore for these characters is deviant mixed with horrifying but it gets even worse when you see what people are willing to pay for his species. Chibi's of his species with barely any detail will go for 40-80 for a 'common' his more detailed works still go into the hundreds. Customs are outrageously priced but you can see people pay for them all the time throughout his gallery.
As time went on and he developed more subspecies he would mark previous ones as uncannon unless you paid him to make them cannon. You also weren't allowed to rp on his severs/ forums etc unless you were up to date as well. He also like Pace, had a TOS that said you weren't allowed to resell them, breed them, change markings without going through him, etc but was worded more cringedly and said that he would repossess your Ki'an without a refund if you broke his TOS. He also including that he would do so well as 'not crediting him for his species' on every piece of art ever made of the character, even if he didn't draw it and required you to inform artist to credit him as well. He has since edited his original journal on it after gaining an Artist Beware and lots of backlash on his page due to it but instead of automatically repossessing it, he will now 'nicely contact you first' before doing so.

His prices are grossly inflated now and he wasn't always this bad, in the beginning Blood has a journal that would tell you what the base price was for a Kitkin (or Naga) and what the additional price would to be up the customs tier. (Let's say, 60$ for a base Kitkin and then if you wanted a hollow it was +20$ so a total of 80$) If you agreed Blood would set up a private stream on a website called Join.me and you could give him additional input for your custom and once it was done he'd give you the files and you could go on your way. He would also take normal commissions via stream and he 15$ charged per half hour. He'd set up a timer, if he took a break he would pause it and come back.
He also required his Payments be sent as 'Family and friends' at the start until Paypal cracked down on that and he started using a fee calculator to tack that on top of whatever price he charged.
As he got more popular he got more arrogant. He started upping these prices, he wouldn't pause or restart the timer when he'd get fed up with what he was drawing and erase the same pose over and over. If the piece was halfway lined or shaded when the timer ran out? You'd have to pay for more time or the piece would be stuck in limbo when he used to finish whatever step he was on if the timer ran out so you wouldn't have an unfinished piece. He'd go 'brb' for 15 minutes to go get a bite to eat or so on and then the stream would be on for hours as viewers dropped and then suddenly just say the meeting was over. He was always a flirt but it became worse as he started calling his viewers his 'harem' and talked about wanting to move all of his regular viewers into a 'mansion' he planned on getting once he 'made it big'. He also had people he called his 'Mammi' 'Pappi' and kids that he regularly would try to ensue sexual rp with. He scared off a handful of commissioners with this talk but given how furries can be, a lot either endured or enjoyed it.
He had a gigantic backlog at one point of 'built up time' where he switched managers several times. If things were outside the chargeback times he basically told you to be nice or he wouldn't draw for you at all, he'd rush your stuff if you threatened him with Paypal but he blacklist you and curse your name afterwards.

Well, yes actually. There was this incident with a user named Candykittycat ( https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/candykittycat/ she doesn't have the best of reps either but it's nowhere near Blood's) who bought a normal Kitkin from him and firstly got in trouble because she didn't credit his species on every piece of artwork she drew of the character. She later started drawing the character with feathered wings to spite him, which of course, caused Blood to rage more as that wasn't something his kitkin's either had at the time or was a different tier entirely.
At first she hid the character away and then wrote a journal showing off her new alt account dedicated to the character entirely but apparently she eventually got fed up with the constant drama and rehomed the character to a friend and has deleted all pieces of her from her gallery/ deactivated the dedicated account. I can't find the character's TH so I have no proof of the art with wings but the journals are still around.

I first met Blood about 8 odd years ago or so. He was actually dating someone at the time so he was able to draw a lot. I happened to hop into one of his streams and I liked his art, so I bought a piece. He draws you in with his charisma and sadly I fell for it, hook line and sinker. We became friends because I wanted to talk to more artists, and then he suggested rping. I had fell off and didn't do it as much as I had in my youth so I said sure but warned him I only did small posts due to having the worlds tiniest flip phone and occasionally borrowing my cousins laptop. We got three posts in before he bailed and stopped talking to me. I let it go, though, assuming he was just busy. Turns out, he was shit talking me behind my back with his other "friends" and I didn't find out for almost 3 years. Just after that, I guess he broke up with his s/o [I think it was a man at the time] and he made enough to buy his beloved bike and started bumming around San Fran and Oakland. Due to him needing money, he started aggressively posting commission slots and adopts. He just so happened to find a group of very rich suckers and one chick even gave him her whole college FAFSA check, twice, because she had a crush on him. Instead of money, I had offered him some food and he agreed but it fell through cause he wanted the money instead of food. He ended up getting enough to go to Hawaii.
In Hawaii, he lived on the beach, bought a van then left it all behind 2 months later for god knows what reason. After that, he began hiking up his prices, offering paid tarot readings [crock of shit there] and offering gems he supposedly found in Hawaii. Then the drama about him not finishing work and the like spawned and he went on a crusade about his species and taking designs back or straight blacklisting people for using them wrong.

They claimed it was due to the meds they were taking, which caused them to become manic and subsequently go on a shopping spree. Once the buyers remorse kicked in, they tried to get a partial refund from the artist/group, only to be rejected. They then proceeded to threaten legal action against the artist if the commission wasn’t finished asap. As a result, the final image looks unpolished and incredibly underwhelming for what amounted to thousands of dollars spent on it.

I actually own 2 of these monstrosities, yes, judge me as you will I was dumb when I was younger, and not only are these things incredibly difficult to draw (design wise), it's also nearly impossible to find an artist who can draw them well enough without charging into the $100+ range. Which all considered, is fair with how ridiculous these are. There are some pretty pleasing designs, but those are far and few. It seems like the more stripes, spots and swirls you can put on a character the better and more expensive.
Madlad watched Love Death and Robots once and now charges you to draw Kharnivore while claiming it as an original species.
