Very interesting to me that they finally removed that creepy bit about Dainties having aphrodisiac saliva or whatever (then added a cognitohazard appeal in its stead but I digress) as the final nail to the "somehow transforming the +18 fetish species into a widely marketable PG species" coffin. I wonder if they'll ever remove the NSFW channel from the Discord server down the line. How far will they go to sell more designs?

LMAO, they never will, most of the people into Dainties are horny fujoshi that like to get art of their twink deerboys getting railed. By full technicality, kids shouldn't even be able to get slots/adopts because of Paypal's TOS, but no one cares as long as it lines the pockets. Their usual slot sales are also fat stacks, they're just limited to maintain the craze. Recently they've been in the 100-200 range, which is $3.5k-7k. And at any time Pajuxi wants, she can drop a flash sale and make $4.2k in an hour or two.

there was this femcel who made an mlp closed species called moonlightmares which were literally just pegasi ponies but their scleras and wings were colored. long story short you had to suck her off to be able to make one of these things and she would constantly monitor you to make sure whatever character you made was to her autistically high standards. you can hardly find anything about them now and google searching "moonlightmares" in quotes gets you very few results since she deleted the dA group and probably forced the several kids who didn't know any better to delete their shit. the actual concept of the species' culture was cool and i lament my days of asskissing by making however many of these original donutsteel horses i want, since her reign is mostly over. if you want to lurk her old username on deviantart was pyscosnowflake (no, not a typo, or self aware) but now it's yourneighborhoodnerd iirc

The grift is nuts if you can make it. There are some that are literally just normal animals with one weird thing slapped onto them that will go for hundreds of dollars apiece. A lot of the feral dog ones in particular are wild for what they are. Slap a plant, some antlers, or an object on a dogs head, or change the composition of a dog to water or whatever and if you’re popular enough you can make bank.

One of my favorite designer used to release individual adopts 2-4 times a month they would sell between 2-8k usd. This industry was insane. I left when I realized it was all sort of an honor code scam, though.

id love people putting new species out into the world and letting others play with em but they can never just specify what makes em unique and then go, let the work speak for itself. they have to personally be there to control everything that comes out of their creation

we all know what dragons or unicorns are even tho they dont exist, we all know what makes em... themselves... and we all know how to design one. we have the rules, and we can choose to follow or break them at will, and thats what art is all about. theres a lot of fun in taking a different spin on something while STILL keeping it recognizable, or otherwise if they fail to do so you can just go 'lol nah that aint a dragon i dont see it', you dont come at them saying they cant call it that or whooping their ass for giving it feathers or hooves or a schlong thats slightly below average....
its also this desire for control that actually makes em fucking boring because even if the artist comes up with one amazing design- they cant just make it a character that exists in and of itself, they have to have it belong to a species because everything needs to be explainable and managable, and they then gotta limit it and force everyone 'onto the same playing field'. no one can have TOO much fun

it feels like its less of a 'here ya go kids, i made a toy for yall, have fun!', and more of a game for the creator themselves to put limitations on things and wrangle a buncha deviantards

i wanna see more unique species where people are allowed to go wild and i guarantee ya those are gonna turn our the best

Personally, I think species, no matter how uncreative, all come down to having fun. The issue is when people have species that make shitty species monetize the fuck out of it and use artificial scarcity and the like. It's just sucking the fun out of the whole concept of making designs based around a concept.
I like seeing a shitty species and thinking 'how can I make this fun while also following the design rules". I like the concept of letting people make 'non-canon' vers of species and I get semi-closed species, where only a few things are monetized or they only open up sometimes, but God if I don't find closed species absolutely stupid.

Searching 'MYO' and 'Species' on sites like FF is a good way to find some degeneracy. Here's some I've found.

They're just horny cow furries.

Rainmakers are an open species, but I don't think that makes them any less qualified to be on this thread. They have giant assholes for whatever reason.

Those Rainmaker things make me think of some kind of hyper fetish knockoff of Esks. More specifically the older esk designs that were a lot simpler, before people went nuts and started making them based on every animal under the sun. Swap out the plants and being connected to specific parts of nature with lazy antler and halos with "rain powers" and you got these things I guess.
