Current mortality rates are showing below 0.1%, which is similar to seasonal flu. They were maybe as high as 0.3% at the height of the pandemic. They'd have been a lot lower if we'd kept it out of the nursing homes instead of deliberately putting the infected in them to protect a health system that didn't need protecting. In a non clown world a whole lot of people would be strung up for pulling this shit, and no I have zero doubts that this was deliberate, the early data showed that the on;y people who needed to worry about this were the very old and the very chronically unwell. The idea that asymptomatic carriers were some kind of super spreaders was always so fucking retarded it defies belief.

In other news- here's something to ponder- if there are people who are asymptomatic, who are also not contagious, can it even be said that they have the disease in the first place... and even if they do, does it matter since they are not in danger themselves and are not infecting others?
