Turns out that people buying the 28th installment of CoD are finding it isn't that great. Particularly entertaining are the people sperging about historical accuracy.

Didn't the internet outrage machine already wear itself out protesting that Battlefield game with the African German landsers on the Western Front of WWI? Diversity is the new watchword in triple A titles, and it is a waste of breath to push back. There's no going back once it's gone black.

Wouldn't it have been better to make this salt thread when the black nazi's controversy was still hot?

I made it because I imagine some guy at Activision deliberately chose historically inaccurate guns for the game and is sitting at home reading through all the comments and laughing at people sperging about it.

True, but either way, you'd find more people upset if you looked at the reactions to either the swastikas being removed or the black nazis.

In regards to all those commenters chimping about the PPSh not being present at all in Normandy due to logistical trouble of munitions supply, they miss the forest for the tress. Did they never read of how the PPSh's 7.62 Tokarev cartridge is just a 7.63 Mauser with a hotter load or how thousands of captured PPSh guns were converted to the standard 9x19 Parabellum? Probably a good number of the German forces manning the Atlantikwall defenses were armed with foreign captures since most of those units were second-line reserves that were often the last in line to receive standard gear.

It's probably a bad way of doing it, but props to those commenters up there shamelessly shilling Red Orchestra in their complaints. Always need to grow that playerbase.

I haven't heard anyone in person talk about the inaccuracies of this game, but of course the internet has their fair share of "pleasant"words about it.

Talk of historical inaccuracies have gone stale since Battlefield 1
Also:
When you search "ww2 normandy germans" or such in Google image search, one of the first results is this:
7a982c1bff469c02866800fa7f1c6fbd--german-soldier-german-army.jpg

Those troops are carrying COMPLETELY UNREALISTIC ITALIAN GUNS, FFS
The Italians were Allied with the Germans you tard. It's only natural that the Italians would supply German troops when their supplies are low and a regiment of spaghetti troopers happen to be passing by.

I've been playing COD since Modern Warfare and I'm not sure I've ever played more than 30 seconds of campaign mode.

I buy it for multiplayer, period. The game is good, it feels like Black Ops 2.

I agree the gender / race pandering is kind of lame though. I'm not sure realism is the word, it's more the lack of immersion that it causes. For the record, I don't like neon guns and graphics either.

Except Black Ops 2 is where CoD went to shit.

I tried COD once a few years back. It was a yawnful experience, walking from cutscene to cutscene, I didn't care about any of the characters, and the multiplayer was full of horrible screeching teenagers who'd fucked my mother. I doubt this will be much different.

I'm told there's a couple of levels set in occupied France where you're an agent for the Résistance, but it's only a couple of token levels before it reverts to the same old crap. To be fair there's the germ of a really interesting game there - a stealthy action adventure where you're a maquisard and with multiple endings depending on how well you succeed or fail in your various missions.

I've played through the entire campaign (which was fucking terrible btw, a cliched plot, annoying cinematics and defense missions which were complete cancer), and there were no black nazis or women. Those seem to be exclusive to the multiplayer where screaming about historical inaccuracies is fucking stupid.
Most of the legitimate criticisms of the multiplayer are aimed at the lootboxes, but that's such an autistic bandwagon it deserves its own thread imo

Fun Fact: In the epilogue, there's an entire 3 mintue section where you walk around a concentration camp while your companion explains how evil the nazis were and the evil things they did. It was one of the most heavy-handed things i've ever seen, it just felt like they were about to finish the game and they realized they needed the obligatory "remember the 6 million" level.

It's also in stark contrast to say Modern Warfare 2 where during the tutorial the guy showing you the controls makes a gay joke, then reminds you of Don't Ask Don't Tell.
