The pandering is pretty bad. But you have to be inclusive these days even if it's historically inaccurate.

I've played through the entire campaign (which was fucking terrible btw, a cliched plot, annoying cinematics and defense missions which were complete cancer), and there were no black nazis or women. Those seem to be exclusive to the multiplayer where screaming about historical inaccuracies is fucking stupid.
Most of the legitimate criticisms of the multiplayer are aimed at the lootboxes, but that's such an autistic bandwagon it deserves its own thread imo

Fun Fact: In the epilogue, there's an entire 3 mintue section where you walk around a concentration camp while your companion explains how evil the nazis were and the evil things they did. It was one of the most heavy-handed things i've ever seen, it just felt like they were about to finish the game and they realized they needed the obligatory "remember the 6 million" level.

Yeh, you can create your own MP avatar. There were no women to be seen in the SP, and there were like 2 or 3 black characters that i've noticed, and they were all Americans.

It's still unrealistic considering how many bullets you can soak up and just shake off with a med kit (and all that happens is your character pulls one out and bam, you're healthy again), but it's interesting the game chose to remove one of the more well-known mechanics of Call of Duty.

Huh, I had no idea! Generally I prefer my FPS games with medikits, but yeah, neither solution is more realistic than the other, so choosing between the two should always be a question of which one can you implement in the game mechanics better.

That actually was how the earliest CoD games worked. It wasn't until CoD 2 that they introduced the rapid-regenerating super soldiers.

They really amped up the graphics, I'll say that much. I'm curious to see how it plays. I never really bothered with CoD, outside of World at War. I don't think it'll be worth the $60+ though.

When some terrible youtube commentator critiques Battlefield I for not having female soldiers, they sperg about realism despite the fact that the RFC did not have DR.Is and there was an 80% chance of you getting a bolt action rifle. Those early semis that medics get? The only ones I can think of that saw use were the Mauser 1916 and the Mexican-designed Swiss-made Mondragon. Both did see service with the German Empire, but only in the Luftstreitkrafte. They were unreliable as shit, so the grit free environment of aircrews were preferable.

Some slight cosmetic changes in the new CoD and, suddenly, it's historically inaccurate. If you actually gave a shit about learning the history, you wouldn't be playing video games. At the very least not AAA.

CoD is digital paintball and nothing more. That is the niche it fills. If you want something more historically accurate, then get Day of Infamy. Even then, it kind of flubs on some of the load outs. Or, better still, read a fucking book.

yeah the way they implemented the SMLE in Red Orchestra was a terrible disservice to the rifle; IRL you're supposed to be able to smoothly work the SMLE's bolt without moving your head and disrupting your sight picture, but in RO it's as jerky as any other bolt action
