College Football - Ohio and Alabama compete for most insufferable

I don't follow college foohbah as much as I used to and I've never been super in to it, but I know enough to say that the new playoff system is inherently unbalanced and boring.

The only way the yank teams like Norte Dame or Oregon could make it to the NC was to change the system, now it's them VS Alabama or Clemson every year.

Anyway, roll tide.

If UGA beats Clemson in the opening game next year, they're heading straight towards a National Championship.

You heard it here first.

Why do they want 12 instead of 8 or 16? 12 is just retarded.
12 makes sense under their proposal. Top 6 conference winners and six at large teams with byes for the top four. Notre Dame is totally FUCKED under this and any such expansion proposal where conference winners get spots. CAN'T STAY INDEPENDENT FOREVER DOMERS!

That is far too generous to at large byes, and gives ND an easy shot to a yearly AL bid provided they only lose once, IMO.

What bothers me is that there is no limit to how many teams a conference can send under that proposal.
I don't care if the SEC or Big Ten are a step above the others, if you're fourth place in any conference, you shouldn't be playing for a National Championship.

Also, they'll still find a way to fuck mid-majors out of spots. Best part of the NCAA Tournament is always the mid-majors making deep runs. I'd rather see Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, or Liberty at least get a chance instead of seeing the same three or four teams every playoff.

If a team can't credibly make a claim to being the best in the country they shouldn't be competing for it. 8 is okay, for those flukey years, more than that is unacceptable.
