To literally nobody's surprise, Colt is bailing on JAX after six days and heading back to Chicago! Longterm plans: get back to the Pacific Northwest.

For one thing, given her crowd, what are the odds none of them smell just as bad? For another, these are people fully into Geek Social Fallacies, by the time they're offering shelter to the weeble. If someone literally never showered and owned no hygiene products, these are tolerance-valuers who believe in helping people out: at least some of these people are the kind who'd help the person pick some out at the store, even fancy ones, and work on some hygiene goals, as if they had adopted a child from a fucked-up background. That would mean giving a new routine at least a chance to work.

And a lot of these fragility-enshriners are all about running out of spoons, so it seems like most of them wouldn't even expect a newly moved-in person to have energy to be a decent human being for a week, and might excuse otherwise inexcusable conduct. It's hard to even picture Laura moving in with someone who'd strike her as in any way strict, or a taskmaster who'd expect her to have her life on track in a new town in a week.

So what is she doing in their homes that is so horrifying that they turn her back within days? Is it a deal where she's moving in with people who clearly expect sex, then refuses to give it to them? I'd contemplated whether she was violent under all her "I love fluffy animals" masking, but decided against it, since no one's called the cops on her or kicked her out on her ass unceremoniously. They seem to give her a few days to leave, but no more. I've got nothin'...anyone with more Colt knowledge have a theory to share that goes beyond just The Stench?

I honestly feel like the mental issues play a bigger role than anything. She's borderline, for one. Possibly a Sperg (I very strongly believe that, for multiple reasons). All it takes is one person telling her something she did wrong like 'hey, don't leave your shoes there' or something for her to break down. It could even happen daily. If she's a Sperg, she might say something rude or tactless and offend others.

In this case, I just wonder if she couldn't handle the heat. Florida is typically a bit hotter than Illinois. This has been an insanely hot summer. I can see her leaving just because it's too hot for her.
