This is an extremely borderline or even Sperg move. Let's talk about timeline.
- She starts out as lesbian. I assume she did this to feel unique and special, as it wasn't quite as accepted even 10 years ago as it is now.
- Then it becomes too accepted, so she becomes a trans man. This was very taboo even 5 years ago (I hadn't really known about transgenderism until 2013ish, when I met someone who claimed to be, and even then it wasn't as accepted).
- That has become too mainstream now, so she's going to identify as non-binary full-time now.
Also, Colt definitely is a gendered name. Of all the names in the world, Colt/Colton and Isaac/Issac are two names that are super gendered. Is she going to change her name again?
I don't know about official confirmation, but she did take a selfie at the SS office awhile back, which implies she was at least filing for SSI (and likely already had it). You can find that somewhere in the thread. I think I was the one who posted it.
She's aware her birth certificate will be gendered right? Even if she updated her gender marker to M at some point (which I think is fucking ridiculous to do on a birth certificate but okay), it's still marked that she's male. Is it going to give her dysphoria to see that? Does Illinois have a law yet saying you can mark X on a birth certificate?
I can see her going with agender or requesting neopronouns in the future. Anything that makes her "special." I wouldn't be surprised if she goes with the abortion story because abortion is still a taboo topic. She's also flip flopped between trans man and NB numerous times so it's also a flavor of the month deal for her.

There's currently a battle in Indiana to make 'X' an option for driver's licenses (I think the hearing is November 15). Indiana is pretty fucking Republican so I'm shocked.

It's like tattoos.
A lot of people got sleeves to look scary and hardcore when they're 19. Some do it out of aggression, others use it as a social filter: if you can't look past this superficial issue to see the real me, you're not worth knowing.
Eventually they turn 25 and realize the real world is a thing, and they don't like the way people shun them, wouldn't hire them, wouldn't let them be around their kids. So they started having campaigns about how tattoos weren't really scary at all, they're beautiful art made by true artists, having a sleeve shouldn't keep you out of a job.
It works. You start to see people with tattoos at service jobs, and then in managerial roles in hip cities.
Now it's normalized. Trouble is, there's now a whole new crop of people who think they want to look hardcore, or filter out superficial people. To them, a sleeve is boring and you could have one while being a VP in Portland, so why bother? Very few superficial people will outright reject talking to someone or hiring them for some arm or leg tats, so it's not a valid filtering mechanism to find the socially accepting. They didn't see the last cycle, so when they're 19, the way to look hardcore is knuckle and face tattoos you can't cover up with clothes. Now that's scary!
Eventually, though, they'll get older, and want people to accept them and validate them as normal suburban moms and dads with "666" in the middle of their foreheads, and the consumer cycle begins anew.
That's why trans people have moved on to wanting full hermaphrodite setups, "nullification," and other modifications that don't even hypothetically resemble real genitals. There will always be a tension in the community between people who use transition to piss off their parents and people who use transition as a way to filter out who would give them validation no matter what.

I knew she advocated to bring trans men into the conversation but I didn't know it came up during all of that a few months ago. I'm kinda shocked she didn't tell her abortion story then in 'solidarity' with them, especially since (I assume) she lived in Georgia at the time.
The current governor is pretty conservative too (I think Pence himself chose him to be the governor). I don't know if it'll pass or not. From what I saw, the DMV wants to but they may not win.
