Nah, I agree with her on this one. Black people already get a whole month, plus MLK's birthday. Meanwhile the holidays celebrating two of our most famous (white) presidents were mashed together into Presidents Day. Combined with all the large scale monument destruction of famous white people from early in our history, and calls for the destruction of more, a cultural great replacement is in full swing.

How much time do we need to spend celebrating and promoting 13% of the population for their skin color? Half the year? I guarantee you that these holidays will be used as an excuse by race grifters to grab more power, much like Carlos Maza tried to use Pride Month last year to ban his critics from Youtube.

TBH, I don't really care that much about Juneteenth in particular. I only care about it because it's part of a massive pattern of the elimination of European heritage from the country and exaltation of all things "POC." If it were just this one thing, I'd say fine. Have a new holiday. But as I said, we already have an entire month dedicated to the celebration of black people specifically for being black. We sure as hell don't have any holidays celebrating white people just for being white. That'd be racist. We also already have national holidays dedicated to specific black people and are eliminating holidays dedicated to specific white people (Columbus Day, Washington and Lincoln's birthdays being turned into President's Day, etc).

So let me ask you again, the same question I asked before, that you ignored and insulted me instead. How much is enough? At what point have we removed enough European heritage and exalted enough non-European, in particular black African, heritage in America? Because this is a process that's showing now signs of stopping. If anything, it's accelerating.

Also, rewarding riots (which is exactly what this will be seen as) will be used as justification for more riots in the future. "Stonewall was a riot" is already being used to justify the riots we just had. If riots are a tactic that works, rioting is something that we'll see a lot more of.

I could say that tearing down statues is short-sighted, and I think a lot of vandalism is opportunistic in nature and taking advantage of the desire people have to do something, anything, when they feel helpless against a police force in need of serious reforms; not just for the sake of black people, but for all civilians, and even for the sake of the cops. If the state and federal governments sign a protection order that they won't remove Mount Rushmore, the statue of Teddy Roosevelt, and other monuments to American heritage across the country, and that they'll send in the national guard against anyone who attempts to, for the next hundred years, under penalty of removal from their government office if they're in dereliction of duty, I'll support making Juneteenth a national holiday. Is that fair? I think that's more than fair. Fair would be also demanding that all the monuments that were torn down during this recent outbreak of protests and riots also be restored and given the same protections, but that will cost a lot of money. So I'm being more than fair.

When people are threatened in their homes by large and unruly mobs when other mobs around the country have been doing violence, and they tell them to take a hike, using their right to bear arms to do so but causing no actual harm, and the system brings charges against them, I feel like we're being stripped of our rights to defend ourselves against very justified threats. If I join with enough like minded people and we start doing something, anything to fight back, I wonder if you'll be so sympathetic and passive towards us as you are against the people currently lashing it in a massively destructive temper tantrum that's killed way more people than the police have in the same time.
